The 28th Tama River Clasico will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 18:30 between Kawasaki Frontale and FC Tokyo in the 2nd stage of the 2016 Meiji Yasuda Life J1 League, at Todoroki Stadium.
This time's "Tama River Clasico" will be promoting as "Tama River Clajigo" in collaboration with the movie "Shin Godzilla" which will be released on July 29th (Fri). Although it is an away game, we kindly ask for your support for FC Tokyo at the stadium. Thank you very much!

□ What is Tama River Clasico...
Since the JFL era in 1997, both clubs have been competing as "good rivals" with intense game content and numerous dramatic game developments. In particular, in 1999, Tokyo Gas announced its entry into the J1 League and became the current FC Tokyo, and both clubs successfully promoted to the J1 League after a fierce promotion battle. Kawasaki Frontale was relegated to the J2 League in one year, but returned in 2005 and has been engaged in fierce battles with both clubs again.
The history of competing and improving each other in this land divided by the Tama River has shown no less excitement than the "derby" held in other cities. And in the future, we will cherish the history of these two clubs and continue this battle as a tradition, and we have named it "Tama River Clasico" by combining the "Tama River", which is a symbol that separates the two clubs, and the Spanish word for "traditional match".
The name "Tama River Clasico" started in 2007, but in order to cherish the history of fierce battles between FC Tokyo and Kawasaki Frontale, we have counted it as "Tama River Clasico" since the J2 era in 1999. From 1999 to 2006, there were a total of 10 matches. In 2007, we started the project and positioned the first match, which will be held on May 6, 2007, as the "11th Tama River Clasico" at Kawasaki Frontale's home game. In the future, we will continue to compete and improve with both clubs so that we can build a history of 50, 100, 200 matches and beyond.
※ Both clubs have agreed that only the "league matches" will be counted as Tama River Clasico. (Matches in cup competitions, such as the Emperor's Cup, will not be counted.)
The current match record is 8 wins, 7 draws, and 12 losses for Tokyo.
