INTERVIEW 2022.1.24

Yasuki KIMOTO WEB Press Conference

Q: You mentioned that it takes time to get used to your personality, but how has it been spending time at camp?
A, little by little, I have more opportunities to talk with the players, and I think I am blending into the team, including during meals.

Q, I think it's a bright team, so I don't think it was that difficult.
A, that's right. Everyone is nice, and since there are many young players, I have the impression that it is a very lively team.

Q: It seems that the practice is progressing at a fast pace, what do you think?
A, it is done very compactly, and it is easy to proceed because it is speedy when moving to the next practice. Even in a short time, the intensity is high, so I think we are able to have good practice.

Q: Are there any characteristics of Coach Albert's training?
A, the on and off switching of doing things when it's time to do them is impressive. They value the ball, so I feel that I can grow myself as well.

Q: How do you feel about playing with player Morishige?
A, I have been practicing with Morishige for about a week, and I was reminded once again of his high level. There is so much to learn from him, so I look forward to each day's practice and want to continue learning from now on.

Q: How was the feeling of the training match?
A, Since we are working under tough conditions, there are still many areas to improve, but what we have practiced over the past week is being demonstrated both by myself and the team, so I want to continue doing this.

Q: Is there any guidance from Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA on how to spend time outside of practice?
A, there are no restrictions outside of practice. I act according to my own judgment and take good care of my body.

Q: How has the progress and response been so far?
A, there is an impression that they are aiming for very attractive soccer. They were able to show good aspects even in practice matches, and I feel a strong sense of response.

Q: Based on your experience at Cerezo Osaka, what do you think is important when it comes to positional play?
A, it is necessary to constantly consider the opponent's positioning and how they apply pressure. In that sense, it is very important to understand the distance from teammates and positioning even when you don't have the ball, so we focus on being aware of these aspects during practice and matches.

Q: Is your experience at Cerezo Osaka beneficial?
In terms of positioning and carefully connecting with the feet, these are things I learned a lot from Coach LOTINA over two years, so in that sense, it is still useful. There are also differences from Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA, so there are challenges as well.

Q: Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA gives a more offensive impression.
A, I think it is different to try to press from the front in defense, and the height of the defensive line at that time, as well as the challenge and cover, feel a bit difficult.

Q: There was a statement about wanting to compete as a center-back.
A, I have been allowed to play most of the game in the back. I intend to play in the position the coach gives me, but since I am currently playing in the back, I want to bring out my own characteristics.

Q: I think Coach Albert is giving detailed instructions on how to receive the ball and body positioning.
A, being aware of your body orientation and always understanding your surroundings before playing has been emphasized since the past, so I don't find it particularly difficult, but I do feel once again the importance of those fundamental aspects.

Q: In order to build up from the final line, passing from the center backs is required. Please tell us what you pay attention to in this regard.
A, I think center backs will have the ball for longer periods, so it's important to determine whether it's better for us to pass the ball quickly or for me to carry the ball forward while creating time.

Q: I feel a respect for player Morishige, but on the other hand, in what ways do you want to surpass player Morishige?
A, I believe this is not a wall that can be easily overcome, but I think I need to deliver performance that surpasses player Morishige by leveraging my own strength, which is my footwork skills.
