INTERVIEW 2022.2.04

Interview with Kuryu MATSUKI

Q: There is one day left in the camp. How do you feel reflecting on the camp?
Since I joined midway, it was quite challenging, but gradually both individually and as a team, I believe we are establishing the style of football that Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA aims for heading into the season opener.

Q: Did you manage to blend in smoothly with the team?
A, yes. The seniors were very kind, and I was able to fit in quickly.

Q: Having teammates like Kajiura and Yasuda who are from the same generation must have been reassuring, right?
A, The two who have been close friends since long ago are同期, so they were reliable.

Q: How does it feel to play as a professional?
A, I am always in an environment where I compete for playing opportunities, and I cannot hold back either. My goal for this year is to "contribute the most to the team," so first, I want to focus on maintaining good condition and working in a way that benefits the team.

Q: Do you talk with your seniors about preparations for the opening?
A, I am not specifically talking about that point. As a professional, I want to get on the pitch as soon as possible and play soccer in front of the fans and supporters. I believe that playing enjoyable soccer is the new way for Tokyo, so I am working to contribute to that.

Q: How do you feel about the challenges and progress you've made so far?
A, I am feeling a positive response. Personally, there are still many areas I haven't mastered, but I believe those are parts I will gradually improve as I get more accustomed. Also, I am getting used to the pace of play little by little, so I think I should play confidently and boldly.
