Q: After the opening match, which is greater, the challenges or the sense of achievement?
A, first of all, the start of the match was not good. Personally, I strongly want to correct that. I wanted to calm the game down more. Although I consciously entered the match, including the formation, there were parts that were not fully communicated to everyone, so I think it didn't go well.
Q: During the start of the match, were there frequent calls for adjustments?
A, I was able to talk, but in the end, I think the only time I was able to clearly make corrections was when the play was stopped.
Q: Has Aoki ever talked about anything to those around him?
A, I gave instructions about formations and positioning. I'm not sure if it was smooth, but after that, it improved significantly and we were able to move the ball better.
Q: I think the tempo picked up in the second half, how was it for you?
In both offense and defense, the team coordinated well, moving the ball as they progressed through the match, and I think there were more good moments overall.
Q: I think we created quite a few chances.
A, I felt a response in those aspects.
Q: Was this a match where we could clearly establish a direction for change by making corrections here?
A, I think the developments will change depending on each match from now on, but I believe things are moving in a positive direction. That is good.
Q: Are there any negative feelings regarding the result of the defeat?
A, personally, I do. The first 15 minutes were a match where it wouldn't have been surprising if the opponent had won. However, after that, I think it was our time for the majority of the game. In that sense, I believe it was a match where we had to secure 3 points, or at the very least, 1 point.
Q: Was there a gap between what you have been working on in practice since the start and your actual style during the matches? Were you able to bridge that gap during the games?
A, it's about fifty-fifty. There were parts that went well. However, as I've been saying since the camp, regarding my position, it has been said that the game is decided by the first play, so I have an even stronger impression that I couldn't control it at the start.
Q: What will you be working on for the next match?
A, the start of the match is a personal challenge as well as a team challenge, I believe.
