INTERVIEW 2023.1.31

2023 2nd CAMP REPORT&INTERVIEW
DAY2 Hisatoshi NISHIDO

On the second day of the Miyazaki camp, despite it being a weekday, many fans and supporters came to watch the practice. It was another day of training under clear skies.

In practice, we conducted a positional game focusing on finishing by expanding from center back to the sides and collaborating to break through.

It is the time to finalize preparations for the opening match. On the pitch, players were seen making detailed adjustments while communicating with each other. Additionally, during moments when shots were not being converted or when the ball could not be advanced, not only Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA but also the players were urging each other, demanding high quality from the entire team.

We have been able to build up training focused on combinations and precision leading to the finish. We will demonstrate this achievement in tomorrow's training match against Zweigen Kanazawa and accelerate our team building towards the season opener.

Q: How do you feel after the second day of the second camp?
A, I returned during the Okinawa camp, and from the Miyazaki camp onward, I want to raise my condition to the next level. After finishing the training on the second day, thanks to the support of the medical staff, I am in a very good condition.

Q: You joined the practice late due to an injury, but how do you want to appeal from now on?
A, I am very disappointed to have joined late, but there is no use in regretting it, so even while injured, I have been preparing thoroughly to make a comeback. I believe I am starting from the very bottom due to the delay. It is a tough situation, but I want to overcome it and build on it moving forward.

Q: What kind of preparations have you made during your injury period?
A had been injured due to poor use of the glutes, so we have been conducting training to consciously use the glutes.

Q: When it comes to training the glutes, I think of Yuto NAGATOMO. Are you seeking any advice?
A, I haven't been able to join Yuto NAGATOMO's training due to timing issues, but I would like to participate if I get the chance. The other day, I spoke with Yuto NAGATOMO and told him, "Please teach me next time," so I hope to learn from him when the timing is right.

Q: I think the competition among side attackers in Tokyo is intense, with strong, skilled, and fast players. What is your enthusiasm like?
There are many high-quality attackers on the sides, but there are no left-handed players with height, so that becomes my strength and individuality. I want to make use of being left-handed and strive to keep up even a little with the great players currently playing in the matches.

Q: Since we have not yet been able to deliver Hisatoshi NISHIDO's play to the fans and supporters, please appeal your characteristics.
A, I believe my strength is my driving force, so I want you to watch how I push forward when I have the ball, how I try to get behind the opponent even without the ball, and how I make plays that advance the team toward the goal.

Q: There are two practice matches during the camp period. What will you focus on when approaching them?
A, Even during practice, the quality of each action is demanded, so the standards are higher than in university, and I feel the difficulty. I believe the quality of passes and crosses becomes important in practice matches as real game situations, so I want to play with more focus and attention to detail than ever before.

Q: Please tell us your goals for this season.
A, without worrying about being in the first year, I will participate in matches while being careful not to get injured. I believe scoring goals is necessary for winning the league, so I aim to embody the football style the club has set for this season, "+1GOAL (one more goal)," and work hard to contribute to FC Tokyo's league victory through assists and goals.
