INTERVIEW 2023.2.03

2023 2nd CAMP REPORT&INTERVIEW
DAY 4 Masato MORISHIGE

Miyazaki, which had been experiencing clear skies, is now covered by thick clouds today. Nevertheless, many people came to observe the practice, continuing from yesterday.

Today, as it is the day between yesterday's practice match and tomorrow's practice match, we conducted adjustments with a relatively light menu.

Mainly conducted practice to utilize the pitch widely and confirmed set plays. With an eye on the practice match the next day, we worked on practical menus.

Even in a relaxed atmosphere throughout, during practice, there was a focus on each play, and if there were mistakes, players would motivate each other, demonstrating the team's pursuit of high quality.

In tomorrow's match, we will showcase the progress made during the camp held in Okinawa and Miyazaki, providing a valuable opportunity for real combat as we head towards the opening.

A total of 21 days of camp held this season. Captain Masato MORISHIGE reflected on the entire camp.

Q、Tomorrow is the last practice match of the camp, how is the team's growth and individual adjustments?
A, personally I am progressing well, and as a team, we find issues with each match we play and repeatedly work to resolve them. We want to carry out this process at a higher level, even if just a little.

Q, Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA says that controlling the ball and dominating the match is important. Has the level of completion improved compared to last season through the camp?
In addition to holding the ball, scoring goals is also important, so I believe there is still a lot to be done.

Q: You mentioned that we need to score goals, but we have been conducting a lot of training to improve the final quality during the camp.
In matches, it is important whether you score or concede goals. Although we are currently creating chances, there are many scenes where we fail to convert them into goals. I believe this can be improved with the right mindset, so I want to maintain a high level of awareness. For myself, what I do won't change, but if I can deliver more accurate passes from higher positions, I think it will create better situations for our attack.

Q, We are continuing matches and practices while trying many combinations without fixing the players, including new recruits. What effects has this had on the team?
A, amid the competition for positions, the players are able to practice well to earn their spots. I believe that if we can have high-level practice, it will naturally lead to high-level matches, so I think this is a good thing.

Q, You seem to communicate a lot with young players. Is there anything you are consciously doing about it?
A. To achieve results throughout a season, the strength of the entire team is necessary. Just like Kuryu MATSUKI, who performed well last season, having new talent emerge from the younger players is essential for the team's growth, so we strive to create an environment where young players can thrive.

Q、What kind of preparations will you make during the remaining time leading up to the opening?
A, I want to focus on building up the finer details and continue scoring goals.

Q: Please tell us your goals for this season.

I think that to win the league championship, it is crucial for everyone to focus as much as possible on each match ahead, so I want to value every single game.
