INTERVIEW 2026.1.21

Okinawa Camp Report DAY 10

Training on 1/21

On the 10th day of the Okinawa Itoman camp, the team worked up a sweat with two training sessions, morning and afternoon. In the morning, a full team practice was held at Nishizaki Athletic Stadium, and in the afternoon, training was conducted in separate groups.

The morning practice consisted of high-intensity drills using the ball. After warming up and sprinting, training began focusing on the movement of the third player while repeatedly practicing pass & move. On the training ground, the voice of Coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI echoed, saying, "Passes must be accurate. It's not enough to be fast; slow passes are also acceptable if they have intention."

In the subsequent one-on-one practice, the number of players was increased from 2-on-1 to 3-on-2 and 4-on-3, while also widening the horizontal space accordingly to make players aware of the speed of switching between offense and defense. Finally, the morning group training was concluded with a game-style drill where a new ball was continuously supplied by the coach whenever the ball went out of bounds.

In the afternoon, each player worked on a menu tailored to them, and the training for the day ended.

FOCUS ON - Today's Highlight -

Today's 'FOCUS ON' selected this shot taken by the official photographer. Min Gyu JANG, aiming for his fourth consecutive World Cup appearance, spares no effort in his training to reach the stage he admires from the blue and red. Last season, he saved the team multiple times with miraculous saves, and he continues to make great saves in this camp as well. Like Yuto NAGATOMO, he shows the intensity of a man chasing his dream repeatedly in daily training. The reliable guardian is still going strong.
