Match Report
FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa is on the verge of winning the championship for the first time in three years and achieving the historic feat of winning both the Emperor's Cup U-18 and U-15 tournaments in the same year with the same club.
The Final Round of the 29th High Emperor's Cup All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship, held in clear weather, took place at AJINOMOTO FIELD NISHIGAOKA.
The opponent in the Final Round is Sagan Tosu U-15, who won the summer's 32nd Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-15).
Coach Ota said, "The opponent is the summer champion, but let's take the initiative from the start. Let's prepare well for everything on the best pitch."
"In times of hardship, let's talk with our teammates and fight until the moment the match ends, believing in each other without giving up."
A large number of 1,181 fans and supporters gathered at the venue, along with players from FC Tokyo U-18 and many staff members.
The match, which was approached as one team, started at 13:00 with a kickoff from Fukagawa.
【First Half】
Fukagawa wanted to take the initiative, but they conceded the opening goal to Tosu.
After 2 minutes, the ball was taken away just as we entered the opponent's territory, and a through pass was made into the left penalty area.
When a powerful shot was taken, GK Kumakura made a save at first, but the spilled ball was sucked into the goal, allowing the first goal of the tournament.
After that, Fukagawa struggled to create attacking opportunities, and in the 15th minute, Aoki, who entered the left penalty area, seized a corner kick, but Toki's volley went wide of the goal.
On the contrary, in the 18th minute, from the right side, and in the 20th minute, from the flow of the opponent's corner kick's second ball, a one-on-one situation was created with GK Kumakura, but he caught it head-on.
While the opponent's time continues, Fukagawa sends middle passes behind the opponent's defense, making Sasakuma and Aoki run, but they are unable to create their own time due to the opponent's tight marking.
Still, Fukagawa actively targeted the opponent's back, and in the 30th minute, a long ball to Aoki who broke through led to a rebound shot from Sasakuma and Tokiwa.
In the 35th minute, Yasuda had a one-two with Sasanuma and found himself one-on-one with the GK, but the opposing GK came out and blocked the shot, sending it wide of the goal.
In the 37th minute, Fukagawa, who does not give up, cuts the goal kick from Tosu on the left side by Yasuda, connects to Sasanuma, and with one touch, sends a floating pass to Aoki.
Aoki, who ran into the vicinity of the PA corner, calmly checked the position of the opposing GK and scored with a right-footed looping shot to equalize.
Aoki scored his 9th goal of the tournament, leveling the score at halftime.
【Halftime】
Coach Ota: "We conceded a goal, but we managed to recover well from that. Let's utilize the sides effectively. Don't lose in one-on-one situations. This is where the real battle begins. Let's all win and celebrate together."
[Second Half]
The team that took control of the match was Tosu.
Fukagawa kicks a long ball into the opponent's territory to push them back, but there are many moments where they cannot pick up the second ball and are pushed back.
Among them, in the 44th minute, Sugawara broke through on the left side and took a shot from a tight angle, but it hit the side netting.
In the 51st minute, Kimura dropped the ball behind the opponent's defensive line, and Aoki initiated a dribble while competing with the opponent.
In the end, the ball was passed to Anzai, who was running on the right, but the shot did not connect.
After that, although they faced a series of attacks from the opponent, the defense stood firm around the penalty area, putting their bodies on the line to respond.
In the 75th minute, Kumakura punches away the opponent's corner kick, but the loose ball is picked up and a series of shots are taken.
In response, the Fukagawa defense threw themselves in front of the shot, blocking it with their bodies.
The final shot veered to the right of the goal, and we defended the goal with determination.
The chance scene for Fukagawa was in the 80th minute just before the end.
Anzai held firm in midfield and made a breakthrough, but in the end, Sugawara's cross was cut off by the opponent.
Endure the tough times and head into extra time after 80 minutes.
[First Half of Extra Time]
At the start of extra time, Fukagawa launches an offensive, but Tosu maintains control.
However, they continued to respond without losing focus for the full 90 minutes.
Aoki was fouled just outside the opponent's penalty area, earning a free kick.
Shin aimed directly with his left foot, but was blocked by the wall, ending the first half.
[Extra Time Second Half]
Despite both sides feeling the exhaustion, the fierce battle continued, and Fukagawa managed to score the go-ahead goal while holding off the opponent's time.
In the 96th minute, a direct free kick from slightly left of the center of the opponent's half.
Anzai sends this to Aoki on the right inside the penalty area, who heads it back, and Toki, who charged in headfirst in front of the goal, successfully pushes it in from a low position to take the lead.
I thought they would escape like this at 100+2 minutes.
When a direct free kick is awarded inside our penalty area, although we initially defend it, the loose ball is pushed in, leading to an equalizer and a penalty shootout.
【Penalty Shootout】
The penalty shootout that started with Fukagawa saw both teams score consistently until the fifth round, but in sudden death, the sixth shot hit the post.
Kumakura stopped the opponent's sixth player in this pinch, moving on to the seventh.
However, when the seventh player was saved by the opposing GK, the seventh player from Tosu scored, ending the match.
After a penalty shootout, Fukagawa finished as the runner-up in this tournament.
Additionally, FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa was selected for the Prince Takamado Fair Play Award, and player Tomoyuki Aoki (number 18) was chosen as the tournament's top scorer (9 goals).
