【Challenge to the next stage】
The 18th Tokyo Metropolitan Club Youth U-17 Soccer Championship Final, which became the "Tokyo Derby" in the 2016 season.
The weather was good and coach Sato entered the venue with a smile, saying "It's perfect weather for soccer!"
Tokyo's starting eleven, aiming for consecutive victories in the tournament, has Taemoto as their GK.
The DF line is led by captain Okaniwa on the right. Sakaguchi is on the left, while Shinohara and Hasegawa hold down the center.
In the midfield, Arakawa, Kobayashi (Shin), Hirakawa, and Kobayashi (Miki) line up flatly from the right, with Hara and Kubo as the two top players in the front line.
The formation for this tournament is based on 4-4-2.
At the pre-match meeting, Coach Sato said, "Let's face soccer sincerely and earnestly. Quality is important. It all depends on us. Let's show the people who came to see the dynamic new FC Tokyo U-18!" and sent the players onto the pitch with a strong push.
《First Half》
Tokyo, who took the initiative with a sharp start from the beginning, did not miss the opponent's mistake and Kubo was blocked by a good defense in a one-on-one with the GK after 2 minutes.
Then immediately after, Kobayashi (Miki) calmly took the ball in front of the opponent's goal and succeeded in taking the lead by passing it near.
Tokyo, who moved the game first, was hit by Verdy's counterattack.
6 minutes, when attacked from the right side, the loose ball goes to the free player in the center of the goal.
Although this is aimed at a direct volley, it goes over the frame.
In the following 7 minutes, DF line was broken through and a scoring opportunity was created, but Ohmoto calmly made a one-on-one save.
After the match, Coach Sato said, "If it weren't for that save by Ohmoto, I don't know what would have happened." As a result, Ohmoto continued to make great plays and secured the key to Tokyo's goal.
Tokyo, who covers the opponent's time and endures it while making noise, continues to hold on.
Verdy will try to create chances from build-up play throughout the game, including the GK.
In response, Tokyo aggressively pressed forward with Hara and Kubo leading the charge from the front line. With organized defense, they prevented the opponent's attacks and had a chance for an additional point at the 16-minute mark.
Kobayashi (Miki) steals the ball inside the opponent's territory and carries it deep into the left PA, crossing it to the near side with a negative cross.
Hara jumps in here, but can't catch the frame.
Afterwards, Tokyo continued to aggressively push forward towards the goal with Hara and Kubo making runs behind the opposing defense and attacking from the sides, but the second goal remained elusive due to the resilient defense.
Just before the end of the first half, Kubo broke through the opponent's DF line and faced the GK one-on-one, but once again was stopped by the opponent's good defense and the first half ended.
Half Time
Coach Sato
"Let's make it clear when we go for the ball and when we don't. When we go for it, let's not miss it. It's a tough game, but let's finish it until the end."
《Second half》
Verdy took the lead at the start.
10 minutes when the second ball is picked up from the midfield battle and it becomes a time of patience.
When attacked from the left side and entered into the PA, the near side was broken and the score was tied.
Tokyo substitutes Fuki-no for Hara. Switching to a two-top with Kobayashi (Miki) and Kubo, Fuki-no on the right side. Arakawa switches to the left.
As a result, Fuki-no brings the flow back to Tokyo with aggressive play.
59 minutes, Fuki-no takes a shot from the right side after stealing the ball with a press from the front line against the opponent's goal kick.
In the 64th minute, the ball from the left side is passed to the center's Fuki-no, who then connects with Okaniwa and receives a return pass, running and crossing the ball.
Kobayashi (Shin) jumped in for a free kick near the goal, but couldn't make the shot.
In defense, Kobayashi (Shin) and Hirakawa prevent the opponent's attack in the midfield against the counter and do not let the flow pass.
Then, in the 72nd minute, Kobayashi (Miki) dribbles on the left side to draw the opponent and makes a last pass to Kubo in the penalty area.
Kubo kicks a powerful goal from a narrow angle, taking the lead.
In addition, Kubo cut off a pass mistake in the opponent's zone at 75 minutes, dribbled past the opponent and calmly scored a one-on-one with the GK, making it 3-1.

The fourth goal was scored in the 90th minute, when Imamura stole the ball from the opponent and took a powerful shot from a dribble, which was saved by the GK.
Sugiyama picks up this ball inside the right PA, and Hideta, who was filling in on the far side for a shot cross, pushes it in with his body.
