○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
As the sun begins to set little by little, the 41st Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Kanto Tournament Quarterfinals were held at the 'Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multi-Purpose Ground' in pleasant temperatures.
Coach Sato conveys to the players, "Increase your value. If you fight sincerely, you can win. Let's win firmly and connect to tomorrow."
The opponent, Kashiwa Reysol U-18, drew against their rival in the late stages of Sec. 5 of the 2017 Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Football League Premier League EAST held on May 7 (Sunday).
The match, which is expected to be a battle that requires focus until the end, kicked off at 16:30.

【First Half】
Tokyo, wanting to take control and advance the match favorably from the start, works together as a team to apply pressure against Kashiwa, who connects passes primarily at their feet, while the defense aims to intercept passes to the front line.
In attack, we will observe the opponent's movements with a mix of short and long passes centered around Shinada and Kobayashi (Makoto).
The first chance came in the 7th minute, when Shinada received the ball in a low midfield position, turned to face forward, and sent a long ball behind the opponent's high defensive line, where Hara made a run.
It would have been a great opportunity if the ball had connected, but it just missed and crossed the goal line.
After that, there were several dangerous moments due to passing mistakes in our own half and the opponent's free kicks, but with GK Takase at the center, we did not allow any goals.
In the 23rd minute, Hara skillfully intercepted the opponent's build-up in the center and passed to the free Imamura.
Imamura found himself one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper and attempted to slide the shot into the goal, but it was narrowly cleared by the opposing defender.
Shinada took the right corner kick obtained from that clearance, and captain Shinohara headed it, but it went outside the frame.
The long-awaited opening goal came in the 30th minute. Tokyo, having connected passes and pushed forward to a high position, saw Sakaguchi receive a pass from Imamura on the right side and deliver a precise cross into the center.
Sugiyama won the competition for the ball against the opponent and scored a goal with a header.
In the final stages, a back-and-forth stalemate continued, with both sides vying for control, and they went into halftime with a one-point lead.

【Halftime】
Coach Sato
"Let's properly maintain possession of the ball and increase the time we control the game. Let's defend without giving the opponent any openings and fight until the end."

【Second Half】
From the start, Tokyo faced a crisis as they were caught off guard on the left side, and from the beginning of the second half, they were frequently pressed by Kashiwa, who maintained possession of the ball.
Tokyo made consecutive substitutions early in the second half, bringing on Kubo (Sei) for Imamura in the 65th minute and Terayama for Shinada in the 76th minute, trying to seize the momentum against Kashiwa, who were pushing to score.
Tokyo, gradually finding their pace, had a big chance in the 83rd minute.
Terayama, who came on as a substitute, fiercely chased down the opponent's connection in the center. The ball intercepted by stretching out to intercept Kashiwa's pass was passed to Kubo (Sei), who also came on as a substitute.
Kubo (Sei) strikes the ball confidently with his left foot, but it narrowly misses the goal.
In the 86th minute, Fushino came on for Yokoyama as Tokyo aimed to gain more momentum, but in the closing stages, they continued to face danger from the opponent's set pieces.
However, Tokyo, centered around Takase, Shinohara, and Kusazumi, communicated with each other until the end and finished the match with a score of 1-0.

Tokyo, which was able to share the weight of the single point among everyone, will fight with a spirit of challenge in tomorrow's Semifinal Round.

Thank you very much for your warm support for the players today as well.
We appreciate your continued support for FC Tokyo U-18.
