○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
The Takayama Memorial Cup U-18 Soccer League 2017 Premier League EAST, which resumed last week.
This week's opponent is Yokohama F.Marinos Youth, who are struggling at the bottom with 3 draws and 3 losses so far.
This round coincides with the U-23 matches, and with 7 players accompanying the U-23 team, we will challenge with a full-force battle from FC Tokyo U-18.
Coach Sato said before the match, "The opponent is in a situation where they can no longer afford to lose. I believe they will fight desperately.
However, if we win the battles for the ball and recover the second balls better than our opponents, we will definitely win. Let's continue to apply pressure on the opponent for 90 minutes and value set plays in our fight.
Let's fight until the end with a mentality for victory and a strong sense of purpose for each individual.
[First Half]
Marinos are launching an attack from the start.
In the slightly slippery ground conditions with occasional light rain, players found it difficult to maintain their rhythm.
Then, in the 6th minute, a free kick was awarded in front of the goal, and ultimately, we conceded the opening goal after being pushed back by the opponent.
After that, while circulating the ball in the defensive line and looking for attacking opportunities against Marinos, Tokyo also applies pressure from the front line to induce mistakes from the opponent.
From there, they gradually built up their attacking shape, focusing on the right side, and reached the 17th minute.
Okinawa takes a right corner kick with a precise ball to Yokoyama, who runs into the center. Yokoyama heads it, and Sugiyama neatly pushes in the rebound off the crossbar to equalize.
Tokyo, aiming for a quick turnaround, saw Yoshida respond to a long ball from the defensive line in the 21st minute, connecting with Imamura while holding off an opponent.
Iwamura dribbles into the penalty area and takes a shot, but unfortunately it goes just wide of the left goalpost.
In the 35th minute, in a crowded midfield, Kobayashi (Makoto) broke through with a dribble and faced the GK one-on-one, but was thwarted by the opposing GK's excellent save.
After that, although several chances were created from side attacks and set plays, they could not score, and the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
【Half Time】
Coach Sato
"Let's not ease up on the pressure in the second half. Let's take shots from the middle during our attacks."
Shooting can change the flow of the game, so be proactive with shots from the middle range. Also, let's value set plays in both offense and defense and stay focused until the end.
[Second Half]
In the 48th minute of the second half, Yokoyama takes a shot from distance upon seeing the opposing GK positioned forward.
The opposing GK barely deflected this, but shows aggression.
However, in the 50th minute, we allowed a goal from a corner kick taken from the left, which gave the opposing team the lead.
Although the opponent took the initiative, in the 54th minute, the ball was passed from Shinohara to Okaniwa on the right side, who made a vertical run and crossed it to the center.
Now, Imamura skillfully evades the mark and heads the ball to equalize immediately.
From here, a back-and-forth development continued, and neither side could create a decisive opportunity as time progressed to the 69th minute.
Caught off guard for a moment, a long shot from midfield hit the crossbar and was sucked into the goal.
Tokyo, on the counterattack, substitutes Fukino for Yokoyama and Kubo (Sei) for Yoshida, launching an offensive.
Okaniwa on the right side and Arakawa on the left side initiate a side attack, but they are thwarted by the opponent's desperate defense and struggle to get a shot off.
In the 86th minute, Suzuki was brought in to replace Terayama, and they continued to press towards the goal until the final whistle of the match.
Although we equalized twice, we were unable to break through the opponent's passionate play.
Thank you very much for your warm support for the players today as well.
We appreciate your continued support for FC Tokyo U-18.
