【Challenge to the next stage】
The 41st Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Quarterfinal Round will be the final match of the Gunma Round.
The opponent in the Quarterfinal Round is Shonan Bellmare Youth.
In the Round of 16, they defeated Nagoya Grampus U18 in a penalty shootout and advanced to the Quarterfinal Round.
Coach Sato said, "The opponent runs very well. That's why we must run harder than them. No matter where the opponent is, let's play our own soccer."
And, "The spirit of competition resides in the details. Let's win and return to our Tokyo!" he urged the players as they were sent out onto the pitch.
Despite the light rain, many fans, supporters, and parents of both teams gathered at the 'Maebashi Football Center Field C' for the Saturday morning match.
Amidst the cheers from both teams, the match aiming for AJINOMOTO FIELD NISHIGAOKA began with Shonan's kickoff.
【First Half】
Shonan, who won the Round of 16 in a penalty shootout, will come out aggressively from the start with that momentum.
Shonan kicks off to start, advancing the ball and taking the first shot from a dribble. This happens just 8 seconds after the start.
With even sharper starts, they pressed Tokyo, connecting passes in attack, and lost control until around the 7th minute.
Gradually regaining composure from there, Tokyo began to seize the rhythm from the opponent's DF line behind the ball and scored in their first chance.
After 10 minutes, Hirakawa dribbled deep down the left side and delivered a low cross to the near post.
Kobayashi (Miki) connected with this, and although it was blocked by the opposing GK, Shinada finally struck the loose ball from mid-range to take the lead.
Furthermore, after 15 minutes, he connected with Sugiyama and Hirakawa on the left side, and when he passed to Kubo, Kubo also advanced deep into the area.
Kobayashi (Miki) firmly pushed in the additional goal with a negative cross to the near post.
In this tournament, it will demonstrate the ability to convert limited chances into goals with strong competitiveness.
After that, Tokyo dominated the ball, and Shonan aimed for sharp counters, leading to a tense period without any relaxation.
Tokyo, aiming for an additional goal, saw Shinada skillfully evade two opponents with ball control in the 18th minute, passing to Sugiyama.
In the 19th minute, Kubo received the ball in the center just outside the penalty area, connected with Kobayashi (Miki) who was running on the right, and took a shot while free, but both were denied by the opponent's GK's excellent save.
They continued to control the ball and launched a variety of attacks with quick short and long passes from the center and both sides, but struggled to break through Shonan's defense, ending the first half at 2-0.
【Half Time】
Coach Sato
"The game management is not bad. The opponent is a team that can run for 90 minutes plus extra time. Let's apply pressure from the start in the second half and see it through to the end. Enter with the mindset of 0-0 and reset our focus."
【Second Half】
The second half began as the rain intensified.
As Coach Sato said, Tokyo applied pressure from the start and scored a goal from a free kick.
In the 47th minute, Kubo was fouled in front of the opponent's penalty area and earned a free kick. He aimed for the top left of the goal with his left foot, and it went in off the crossbar.
Quickly score an additional point.
After that, Tokyo continued to dominate the ball, while Shonan launched sharp counters as the match progressed.
In the 51st minute, Kobayashi (Miki) broke through deep on the right side, delivering a low cross to the near post.
Kubo attempts to take a shot with one touch, but the GK blocks it. Furthermore, Hara tries to follow up on the loose ball but cannot push it in.
Shonan, who never gives up, earned a corner kick in the 54th minute, and the GK joined the attack. He took a header shot, but a foul was called before that.
Shonan GK continues to actively participate in attacks in front of the goal during set plays.
In the 56th minute, Arakawa delivered a cross from the left side, and Hirakawa picked up the loose ball and shot inside the penalty area.
Hara, who was positioned right on the edge of the offside line, changed the course with a one-touch to make it 4-0.
Hara scored his fourth goal in the tournament, marking his fourth consecutive match with a goal.
However, just after that, in the 58th minute, they were caught off guard for a moment and conceded a goal, but they did not give up control.
In the 65th minute, Arakawa received a deflection from Kobayashi's header on the right side and broke through into the penalty area alone.
After a dribble with speed, he cut in at the end, momentarily evading the opponent, and struck with his left foot into the far side, making it 5-1.
After that, Yokoyama, Fukino, and Terayama continued to send fresh players onto the pitch, maintaining the momentum for Tokyo.
In the 89th minute, after enduring a counterattack from Shonan, they conceded a second goal from the center.
Furthermore, Shonan, not giving up, earned a free kick in the Tokyo territory in the 90+2 minute, and once again the GK joined the attack.
The Tokyo defense deflected this and cleared it far, as Fuki approached the drop point fiercely.
After picking up the ball from a contest with the opposing GK near the center circle in the opponent's half, he managed to slide it into the empty goal while competing with the approaching DF, making it 6-2.
By holding off Shonan until the end, we advanced to the Semifinal Round held at our home AJINOMOTO FIELD NISHIGAOKA.
