○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
"We are the only ones who can aim for consecutive victories."
The 41st Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) is finally in the final round.
The match card is "Urawa Red Diamonds Youth - FC Tokyo U-18"
Tokyo won against Kawasaki Frontale U-18 in the semifinal round with 2 goals from Taichi HARA.
Hara is currently tied for first place in the overall scoring ranking with 6 goals in this tournament. If he scores in the final round, he may become the sole top scorer.
Against Montedio Yamagata Youth, Urawa advanced to the final by defeating them 2-0 in the semifinal round.
Urawa and our match record this season faced off in the Kanto Tournament Semifinal Round, with a 1-0 victory.
In the 2017 Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Football League Premier League EAST, in the Sec. 2 match, we won the away game 2-1, and Urawa is fired up for revenge and will enter the game with high motivation.
Please join us in aiming for our first consecutive victory in the tournament since the 2010-2011 Verdy Youth team, with our young blue and red players as FC Tokyo.
The match started with a kick-off in Tokyo, watched by a very large number of 3,584 fans, supporters, and parents.

【First Half】
As a result of intense battles on the ball, the lead is contested, and Tokyo gets the first chance.
2 minutes, Kubo receives a foul in the opponent's almost center field, earning a free kick. This is sent to the front line by Shina, but no one can connect and the ball goes out of bounds.
Afterwards, both teams were able to advance the ball to the PA area, but the defense remained focused and unable to create scoring opportunities as time passed.
17 minutes, Kubo sticks to the ball in front of the center of the area and follows up with a leftward expansion by Kobayashi Miki.
Sugiyama, who ran in there, took a good shot but it was saved by the GK and resulted in a CK. This CK was defended and no goal was scored.
Then, Urawa created a scoring opportunity.
24 minutes, when the ball was put in diagonally from the right side, FW Izawa, who ran into the left side behind Tokyo DF, received it and took a decisive shot from inside the left PA, but... it went outside the frame.
In the 26th minute, shortly after, Arakawa, the left fullback, ran up to a high position and crossed the ball into the goal area.
Kobayashi drops it to Hirakawa in the center and takes a shot.
Furthermore, Sugiyama makes a move from the left side, while Kobayashi expands to the right.
Okano, who overlapped a long distance, crosses the ground, but is cut off by Urawa in the center. Tokyo attacks widely from both sides.
At 30 minutes, left SB Arakawa changes the side to the right front line with a long feed from their own territory.
Kubo, who broke away in response to this, advanced into the area with a skillful trap. He tried to break through the two opposing DF players with a combination of speed and slowness, but was brought down without a foul being called.
Tokyo, who is increasing their offensive, has a passing play at the 38th minute with Sugiyama on the left, Kubo in the center, and Shina, Hirakawa flowing.
Kan Kobayashi, who ran into the right area, takes a decisive shot... but is blocked by Urawa.
On the other hand, in the 42nd minute, Urawa quickly brought the ball into Tokyo's territory and FW Izawa took a powerful shot, but Takase made a diving save.
Tokyo, who immediately launched a counterattack, intercepted the opponent's GK pass with Shinaida at 43 minutes. He hit Harada in the area and entered the PA himself.
It was a great chance, but the shot was blocked by the opponent's GK's foot, and Hirakawa, who picked up the rebound, aimed for the goal, but was blocked by the DF and did not score.
The first half ended scoreless.

[Halftime]
Coach Sato
"Let's be careful of the opponent's counter attacks. While calmly playing the game, let's step up our game one more gear. In doing so, let's increase our concentration and run until the end."

【Second Half】
The second half started without any player substitutions from both teams.
Urawa started off with great momentum.
46 minutes, although the right side was about to be broken through, Okanote escaped with a sliding throw-in. Despite the momentum, Takase calmly caught the cross.
In addition, a scoring opportunity was created in the 52nd minute.
When the opponent launches a quick attack, Shinohara cuts off the ground cross with a sliding tackle and creates a corner kick.
The right CK was cleared short, and Urawa FW Izawa volleyed it into the left PA of Tokyo, but missed the frame.
As we surpass this, the flow gradually heads towards Tokyo.
57 minutes, Brandt dribbles up the center, goes around the left area from a one-two with Sugiyama on the left side, and takes a shot, but Urawa blocks it.
In addition, Kobayashi, Shinaida, and others collected second balls and took shots from the area in front of the goal, but were all blocked by the feet of the Urawa DF who were solid in the center...
In the 58th minute, Sugiyma steals the ball from Urawa FW Shimabuku in the midfield and notices that Urawa GK is coming out, so he takes a long-range shot, but it narrowly misses the crossbar...
66 minutes, Haru drops Kubo's vertical pass with one touch, and Sugiyama enters the left PA.
I made a chance, but... the shot went to the left...
Then now, Urawa is threatening Tokyo's goal.
75 minutes, GK Takase jumps out to a loose ball in front of the goal and collides fiercely with the opponent. He desperately clears the ball.
In the 78th minute, Okanohara blocks the breakthrough by Urawa player, but the ball hits his hand, resulting in a penalty kick inside the penalty area.
However, this decision maker is blocked by the wall and does not allow goals.
This will surpass and move the game.
79 minutes, left SB Arakawa advances and creates space for Kubo to run in from the outside, passing to Kobayashi Miki in the left PA.
Kubo shoots a near goal with his left foot from an angleless spot inside the left PA, taking the lead.
In the 83rd minute, Koki Kobayashi ran into the left area and crossed the ball, hitting the arm of an opponent player who came to block with a sliding tackle, resulting in a penalty kick.
He adds this to the right sumi for an additional point.
After that, the clock is advanced while using player substitutions. After 3 minutes of additional time, the referee's whistle blows and the stadium erupts in cheers.

We have won the "41st Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Tournament" with this result.
Achieved consecutive victories following last year's win, and won the title for the fourth time as a club (in 2001, 2008, and 2016).
In addition, Kan Kobayashi was named the tournament MVP, while Taichi HARA claimed the top scorer title with 6 goals.

Thank you very much for your warm support for U-18 throughout the tournament.
