○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
The 15th round of the 2017 Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Football League Premier League EAST will be an away match against Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18.
In this round, which is the final match of the third quarter, the difference between third place Tokyo and first place Shimizu S-Pulse Youth is only 1 point.
We want to win at all costs and catch up with the top spot.
Before the match, there was also information that the top-ranked Shimizu had won against Kashima in the match that took place earlier today, which further raised the players' tension as the kickoff approached.
【First Half】
From the beginning, Kyoto carefully moves the ball with their GK and DF line, occasionally making sharp vertical passes to try and break through Tokyo's defense.
Tokyo, on the other hand, calmly responds to the opponent's possession, not allowing them to advance towards the goal, and launching effective counterattacks by winning the ball in the midfield.
In the 23rd minute, immediately after an accident where Terayama, who had started two consecutive games, was forced to leave the field due to an opponent's foul, Sugiyama made a sharp read and movement to intercept the opponent's pass and dribbled into the vital area.
Successfully passed a perfect through pass to Yoshida, who ran up behind the DF line, and made a beautiful first touch to take it out, and successfully took the lead by piercing the top left corner of the goal with a good view of the GK.
Leading 1-0 at halftime.
【Second Half】
As the second half begins, the game progresses at a Tokyo pace.
52 minutes, Koki Kobayashi volleys from the cross by Okanote who broke through the right side. It was a decisive moment, but unfortunately he couldn't hit the target.
Afterwards, Yoshida and Sugiyama continue to take shots, but they are unable to score any additional points.
66 minutes, Hasegawa scores the long-awaited additional point with a near header from Hirata's left corner kick.
In the 76th minute, Sugiyama dribbled through the right side and passed to Harada in the center. Harada swung his right foot with all his might and powerfully struck the ball into the near top corner, widening the lead.
After that, fresh players who came on as substitutes led the team to a 3-0 shutout victory, not allowing the opponent to counterattack.
We were able to accumulate 3 points and chase after the top team, Shimizu, without being left behind.
The Premier League will resume on November 25th, following the J Youth Cup.
With only 3 games remaining, we aim for the highest stage that we couldn't reach last year and fight with all our might as a team until the end.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for the players today.
We kindly ask for your continued support and warm cheers for FC Tokyo U-18.
