○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
The 2017 J Youth Cup 2nd Round of the 25th J League Youth Championship held at Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multi-Purpose Ground.
Coach Sato tells the players, "Let's surpass our opponents who come to win. Unexpected things may happen, but let's showcase what we do in our daily routine."
The opponent, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo U-18, is a team that advanced by winning 5-1 against Shiogama FC Youth in the 1st Round.
Amidst the heavy rain caused by the typhoon, the match kicked off at 15:00.
【First Half】
With many puddles visible across the pitch due to the rain, Tokyo is launching simple attacks using a lot of floating balls from the start.
The first shot came in the 5th minute, with Yokoyama directly aiming for a free kick earned from a high position on the left side, but it was deflected by the goalkeeper.
On the contrary, in the 17th minute, we faced a crisis when the opponent picked up a loose ball in front of our goal and took a shot, but Shinohara blocked it with his body.
In the 28th minute, Tokyo has a big chance. Fushino, with the ball near the halfway line, delivers an early cross.
Although the ball was deflected by the opponent, Takahashi, who had moved up front, picked up the ball, controlled it, and shot without hesitation.
Unfortunately, it hit the bar and could not score a goal.
Tokyo was gradually getting closer to the goal, but in the 34th minute, they gave away a direct free kick on the left side of their own half, and everyone defended by putting their bodies on the line against the ball that was sent into the goal area.
However, when the loose ball was connected to the opponent and a shot was taken, Takase initially deflected it, but the opponent capitalized on the second ball and scored the opening goal.
Tokyo will immediately launch a counterattack.
In the 43rd minute, connecting the ball from a throw-in in a high position on the right side, to Sugiyama in front of the goal.
Sugiyama sends a lob pass to Kobayashi (Sato).
Kobayashi (Sato), who received the ball with his back to the goal, skillfully turned his body after a chest trap and struck with his right foot to score the equalizer.
The first half ends in a 1-1 draw.
【HALF TIME】
Director Sato
"Let's be careful of the opponent's quick restart. Let's win together as a team, including the substitutes."
【Second Half】
Both teams fiercely clash in aerial battles and at the ball from the start of the second half.
Tokyo boldly approached the goal and looked for opportunities, but in the 61st minute, they conceded a go-ahead goal from a corner kick taken by the opponent on the right, which was headed in at the far side.
Tokyo, having allowed the lead, made substitutions in the 63rd minute, bringing in Shinada and Hara for Kobayashi (Sato) and Imamura.
Then, in the 74th minute, Shinada, who had just come on, took a right corner kick that Takahashi headed in to equalize at 2-2.
In the 75th minute, Kobayashi (Miki) replaced Kusazumi, and Tokyo launched an even more aggressive attack.
In the 88th minute, Yokoyama made a dribble on the right side and passed to Hara in front of the goal.
Hara swings with his right foot but unfortunately misses to the right of the goal.
After that, Tokyo was unable to score, and the match went into a 10-minute half-time extension.
[Extra Time]
As strong rain began to fall and the wind started to blow, both teams engaged in a back-and-forth battle.
In the second half of extra time, Hara and Yoshida each had a great chance in front of the goal, but unfortunately could not score, leading to a penalty shootout to determine the outcome.
[Penalty Shootout]

On the other hand, Tokyo secured a fierce victory with all five kickers scoring perfectly, advancing to the 3rd Round.
