【Challenge to the next stage】
Last week, Tokyo triumphed in a battle amidst heavy rain and is set to face Vissel Kobe U-18 in the 3rd Round of the 2017 J Youth Cup, Sec. 25 of the J League Youth Championship.
As last week, the match with the approaching typhoon is marked by light rain wetting the pitch.
Coach Sato said, "The opponent is a very strong team currently ranked 2nd in the Premier League WEST. This match will require both high-quality soccer and a gritty fighting spirit. In attack, we need boldness and precision, and in defense, we should focus on controlling the situation. Since it's a tournament match where anything can happen, let's fight with a strong mindset until the end." and sent the players onto the pitch.

[First Half]
The opening shot is from Tokyo. Yokoyama took the corner kick on the right, and Yoshida headed the ball in the center. Unfortunately, it hit the side netting.
Tokyo, taking control from the early stages, launches a fierce attack.
In the 17th minute, Kobayashi (Sato), who reacted to a through pass from the midfield, skillfully broke free and took a shot inside the penalty area, but it was blocked by the opposing DF.
In the 18th minute, Yoshida, who had just barely crossed the offside line, took a shot while competing with the defender, but it hit the side netting.
In the 22nd minute, Yokoyama delivered a sharp cross from the left side to Kusazumi on the opposite side, but the opposing goalkeeper barely managed to touch it and change its course.
Immediately after that, Yokoyama aimed for a surprising long-range shot from the midfield, threatening the goal.
Tokyo continued their offensive, and in the 25th minute, Sugiyama delivered a superb through pass to Yoshida, creating a big chance one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper. Yoshida unleashed a powerful shot to the near side, but it was blocked by the goalpost.
Another 30 minutes, a through pass from Kobayashi to Yokoyama who ran down the right side. Yokoyama aimed directly but it went over the crossbar.
The long-awaited goal for the attacking Tokyo came in the 37th minute.
A cross from Yokoyama on the right side is shot by Arakawa. This is cleared by the defender, but Kobayashi Mikki makes a direct volley from the loose ball.
This pierces into the bottom left corner of the goal, securing the much-desired opening goal.
Tokyo, aiming for an additional goal, does not ease their attacking efforts as CB Takahashi boldly attempts a long shot from near the center circle, but they are unable to score and end the first half at 1-0.

【Halftime】

"We are leading 1-0, but let's play as if it's 0-0. In the second half, there will be chances to score more, but there will also definitely be moments of danger. No matter the situation, we must continue to play calmly. Yoshida and Kobayashi (Sato) are also getting behind the defense well, and the set pieces are delivering good balls. Now we just need to make sure we finish the chances properly."

【Second Half】
The rain has almost stopped and the second half begins.
Tokyo, entering the second half with focus, does not allow the opponent to take control with a coordinated defense from the front line.
However, Kobe is also a strong contender in the Premier League WEST. Gradually, their characteristic passing game is starting to function.
In the 54th minute, a free kick was awarded in midfield. A sharp ball was sent to the center, but Takase confidently caught it with a strong leap.
After surviving a crisis, in the 57th minute, a momentary gap was exploited and the ball was played to the left side, where a cross was sent into the center and headed in, allowing the equalizing goal.
Tokyo, aiming for the winning goal, brings in Terayama in place of Kobayashi (Sato).
As Director Sato said, even after equalizing, Tokyo maintains its composure and shows focused play, regaining the momentum.
Right back Fukino surged up the side with a speedy dribble, passing to Mikihiro Kobayashi at the top.
Miki Kobayashi shoots without hesitation, but this is blocked by the opposing DF.
Then came the 77th minute. A superb long ball from CB Shinohara went behind the opponent, and Yoshida, who broke free just on the edge of the offside line, dribbled into the penalty area and sent the ball to the center while falling down.
Although it hit the opponent's DF once, Terayama, who was running into the center, pushed this in to score the go-ahead goal.
Tokyo continues to attack, but the opponent's desperate defense makes it difficult to get a shot off.
Conversely, with less than 5 minutes remaining, despite receiving a barrage of attacks from the opponent, everyone, led by GK Takase, held strong in defense until the final whistle of the match.
With everyone focused until the end, we successfully advanced to the Semifinal Round.
