○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
The weather is clear. In the chilly wind, the 'Takamado Cup U-18 Soccer League 2017 Championship', which determines the true number one in Japan for high school age, will be held at Saitama Stadium 2002.
Coach Sato said, "The best stage. This tournament undoubtedly determines the best in Japan. The opponent doesn't matter."
Let's fight not only with the 18 members who have joined, but also by gathering all the strength related to FC Tokyo U-18. When things get tough, let's look at everyone's faces.
As the players listened to Coach Sato's instructions in an atmosphere filled with tension, he inspired them by saying, "Let's show our hard work and way of life!" before sending them out onto the pitch.
11,023 people gathered for this match.
The match, watched by many fans and supporters, kicked off at 13:00 in Kobe, as the young blue-red players jumped onto the pitch aiming for their first championship.
[First Half]
Kobe entered the match with momentum from the start.
Struggling in the battles for the ball due to physical strength, they are also outpaced by the opponent in recovering second balls.
In the 8th minute, a free kick is awarded to Kobe, but the wall blocks it, resulting in a corner kick, which is defended successfully.
In the 18th minute, after being shot at again in the 16th minute.
A long throw from the right side was headed into the goal area, allowing the opponent to step in front of the Tokyo defense and score the opening goal with a header.
Tokyo wanted to counterattack, but they couldn't create an attacking shape and time was running out.
Still, they gradually regained composure and began to control the ball, but they struggled to enter the opponent's penalty area, and it was the 32nd minute.
When the ball is taken away in the opponent's territory, a long vertical pass falls behind the Tokyo DF line.
As Hasegawa chased this, he knocked down an opponent in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick decision.
Takase reacted to this penalty kick to the left, but just barely missed it and conceded the second goal.
Tokyo, trailing by 2 goals, started to create tempo by moving the ball around after the 35th minute, but could not create any chances.
In the 37th minute, Shinada delivered a negative last pass from inside the left penalty area, but it did not connect with Naka. In the 42nd minute, Arakawa's feed was received by Hara, but he could not control it.
The first half ends without creating any real chances, heading into the second half.
【Halftime】
Coach Sato: "We are not done yet. We can do more. We will definitely score the next goal."
Let's move the ball quickly. There are 45 minutes left, let's show what we've been working on.
This is the best situation. Let's definitely turn it around!
[Second Half]
Tokyo made substitutions at halftime, bringing in captain Okaniwa and Kusazumi, who returned from injury and made the bench for the final match of the Premier League, in place of Fuki and Yokoyama.
By placing Kusazumi at left back, Arakawa is moved up a line, and Sugiyama is positioned on the right side to change the flow.
As a result, Kusazumi, who came on in the second half, quickly gets involved in scoring.
In the 46th minute right after the start, after getting a throw-in deep on the left side, Shinada received a long throw from Kusazumi inside the penalty area and was fouled, earning a penalty kick.
If Shinada calmly decides this, it's already the 53rd minute.
Kusazumi received a pass from Sugiyama, dribbled forward, and delivered a cross to the far post, where Yoshida jumped in and headed the ball to equalize.
Tokyo, having seized the momentum, launches further attacks.
In the 59th minute, Okaniwa, who overlapped on the right side, sent a sharp cross to the far post, but Hara just missed it as he dove in.
In the following 60 minutes, after connecting the ball from their own half, Sugiyama passed to Yoshida, and although he sent it to Hara, who timed his run perfectly, it was offside.
On the contrary, it was in the 61st minute that they faced a crisis. Taking advantage of a momentary gap, a player broke free behind Tokyo's defense, and Takase spread his body to come out and block with his right foot.
In the 63rd minute, although they faced consecutive threats from the opponent's set plays, Takase's excellent saves prevented a scoring opportunity, not allowing the opposing team to take the lead.
In response to the resilience of the defense, the attacking players moved the ball quickly and attempted to penetrate the opponent's penalty area, but they could not break through in the end.
As the match passed the 75-minute mark, perhaps due to fatigue, mistakes began to stand out for both sides, but they continued to push towards the goal.
In a rapidly changing game of offense and defense, in the 85th minute, the opponent takes consecutive shots, but the defense blocks them.
In the 88th minute, Kobayashi (Miki) connected with Sugiyama, who broke through on the right, and sent a cross to Hara in front of the goal, but the GK made a save.
The corner kick gained from this is cleared with a punch, and now the guardian of Tokyo shows off as well.
In the 89th minute, a powerful shot was taken after allowing an entry into the right penalty area, but Takase punched it away.
Tokyo, wanting to decide the match in 90 minutes, saw Hara continuously involved in key chances during added time but unable to score, leading to a 10-minute half of extra time.
[First Half Extra Time]
In the 92nd minute, Kobayashi (Miki) received a throw-in from Okaniwa, but Arakawa was unable to take a shot after receiving the cross.
Then, in the 94th minute, Kobe sent a looping pass behind from a dribble, resulting in a decisive shot from the opposing player who broke free.
However, Takase also jumped forward, spread his body to block the path, and pushed it out of the frame.
In the 95th minute, a clearance ball by Hasegawa was picked up, allowing a decisive shot inside the penalty area, but Hasegawa blocked it with his body.
Tokyo takes the lead when the defense maintains its concentration.
In the 101st minute, Terayama was brought in to replace Shinada, who had cramping, and the corner kick taker was also changed to Okaniwa.
In the play just before this, Hasegawa, who entered the center from the right corner kick obtained by Okaniwa, powerfully headed the ball in, taking the lead for the first time in this match.
[Extra Time Second Half]
Tokyo's defense responds firmly against Kobe, who is aiming for the equalizing goal.
In the 101st minute, he blocked the opponent's shot with his body, and in the 105th minute, he conceded a corner kick from a long throw, but Takase cleared it with a punch.
Tokyo tries to control the ball at the front line and make good use of time, but is thwarted by Kobe's intense defense.
In the 110th minute just before the end of the match, Tokyo brought in Kobayashi (Makoto), who had just returned from injury.
When 2 minutes of additional time was displayed, Tokyo maintained their focus until the end and secured a remarkable victory.
Making their debut in this tournament, they achieved their first victory and earned the title of 'True Number One in Japan.'
