Q: The camp is nearing its end, and the opening is approaching. How would you like to use the time from here on?
A, ultimately the coach decides the members, so I just think I need to prepare myself to be at 100% by the start of the season.
Q: What is your approach to positional play?
A. I believe that the most important thing is to keep trying in response to what the coach is asking for. If errors occur, we should continuously correct them and improve. If the team fails to implement the desired style of football, things won't go well, so I think it's crucial for everyone to move forward in the same direction.
Q: What do you feel is expected of you, player Yamashita?
A, I think it's about scoring goals and taking the goal. I believe it comes down to how much you can contribute inside the box. In addition to that, I want to further refine the technical aspects of switching between offense and defense, passing, and shooting.
Q: In training, we are working on transitions, especially high pressing from the front after losing the ball, and I believe forwards play a very important role in that.
A, although the method is different, we have always focused on high pressing and transitions. My mind is clear, but the way we switch and regain possession, as well as the tactical defensive approach, are slightly different, so I want to thoroughly internalize them.
Q: As a forward, will Yamashita adjust to his teammates, or will they learn his characteristics and adapt to him?
A, I think both. Compared to when the camp started, my shooting sense has improved, but there are limits to what I can do alone, so I think it is also important to ask my teammates for support.
Q: There are two more practice matches during the camp. How do you want to approach them?
As the coach also mentioned, it’s about having a winner’s mentality and focusing on competing to win. Additionally, I think this is a place to keep trying out what we have been building up, so I want everyone to take on challenges without being passive.
