1/16 Training

On the 5th day of the Okinawa Itoman camp, two training sessions were held. In the morning, gym training was conducted at the accommodation, and in the afternoon, they worked up a sweat at the Nishizaki Athletic Stadium.
Following the practice match the previous day, during the pass & control session on this day, Coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI instructed, "Break down the opponent's defense with precision in each play." Furthermore, the coach said, "We're not just setting up mannequins. Let's visualize it," and urged each player to synchronize their breathing as if in a real match.

At the end of the full team practice, the players split into two groups: defense and offense, to review build-up plays and more. The aim to strengthen the "Chikara-zo" spirit for the start of this season is increasingly evident in each training menu.
CAMP VOICE vol.3 Yuta SUGAWARA

Q: The camp has reached its fifth day, how do you feel about the progress?
A, my first goal is to stand on the pitch for the league opening match. In that sense, I don't know exactly where I stand, but I still have a long way to go. I think I am gradually getting opportunities to play in practice matches and training, so I want to make sure I seize those chances.
Q: In yesterday's practice match against Nagoya Grampus, Kio TANAKA, who was also promoted to the top team, scored a goal. Did that serve as motivation for you?
A, I was jogging and not watching the match, so I found out later when I returned to the lodging (bitter smile). However, it is definitely better to be the one scoring goals and producing results, so I am motivated by that.
Q. There were opportunities to team up with key players during practice.
A, within that, I was conscious of how to express myself. I believe I can show my strengths when the ball comes to me, and I want to demonstrate that I have many "weapons" when I have the ball. High-quality balls are delivered from the center back, so it was enjoyable to play.
Q. There were also occasions when you served as the set-piece kicker.
A, not yet. It would be good if it leads to a goal, but even though I had chances to shoot in yesterday's practice match, I couldn't do it. If I get another opportunity, I want to aim for an assist.
Q. What kind of appeal do you want to make in the remaining 7 days of the camp?
A, I want to achieve solid results in the remaining practice matches and secure a spot in the lineup for the league opening game. Of course, I also aim to be in the starting lineup.
Q. Kuryu MATSUKI secured a starting spot from the opening match in his first professional season, gained experience from there, and then spread his wings overseas.
A, like Kuse-san, I hope to show many people myself standing on the pitch from the opening match.
FOCUS ON - Today's Highlight -

Today's 'FOCUS ON' chosen by the official photographer is this shot of Kashif BANGNAGANDE smiling brightly in the tropical land.
During the pre-season camp last season, he struggled with injuries and often had a gloomy expression, but this season, Kashiwa is facing soccer with a fulfilled and bright look.
Number 6 in blue and red has to be like this after all!
