INTERVIEW 2026.1.23

Okinawa Camp Report DAY 12

1/23 Training

On the 12th day of the Okinawa Itoman camp, time was mainly spent on build-up and set plays at Nishizaki Athletic Stadium.

During the build-up training, instructions on countermeasures against the opponent's press were given by head coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI. The team trained repeatedly to ensure everyone could visualize the same strategy.

Furthermore, in set-piece practice, a menu incorporating various situational scenarios was included.

Only one day remains in this season's camp. The blue and red team will unite as one and strive for the 'championship.' The foundation for this was surely built on the land of Okinawa.

CAMP VOICE vol.6 Teruhito NAKAGAWA

Q, There is only one day left in this season's camp.
A, personally, there were days when I wanted to add a bit more stimulation, but unlike in previous years, it seems that the training menu was organized according to each individual's condition.

Q. It seems that there are fewer injured players compared to usual.
A. Considering that there have usually been players sidelined due to muscle injuries, I think it has been a while since we have not had any major injuries.

Q. During the camp period, we spent a lot of time on build-up play. How do you feel about the progress and challenges?
A, I believe there is still a difference between when things go well and when they don't. Of course, I think there will be failures as well. However, if you don't challenge yourself, you can't achieve success. I believe you just have to overcome it.

Q, The opening of the Meiji Yasuda J1 Century Vision League is just around the corner.
A, the half-season may be short, but we are aiming for the championship. We spend each day working towards that goal. The league regulations are different from usual, but since we are competing, we want to first become number one in the EAST group and then win the match against the WEST group. Our aim is the top. We want to raise that ambition even higher.

Q. This season, everyone is talking about winning the championship. Do you feel that momentum or something like a breeze?
A, It's a good thing that everyone is voicing the same goal. It's more important for everyone to work towards that goal together than for just one person to speak out, and I think a good atmosphere has been created. I believe in something like the power of words, so that's why I want everyone to cherish it together.

Q, I hope it will be a half-season where Teruhito NAKAGAWA can truly shine.
A, I want to do that. I will do my best.

FOCUS ON - Today's Highlight -

'FOCUS ON' selects photos taken by the official photographer on the day. On this day, we chose a shooting scene of Motoki NAGAKURA.

The finishing work of the goal scored in the 2025 Meiji Yasuda J1 League Sec. 15 match against Yokohama F.Marinos was highly evaluated, and it was also selected as the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Monthly Best Goal for June.

Many clever goals like that might be seen again this season. Such a feeling lingers as goals are being scored one after another even during training in this camp.

Expectations for the versatile striker who has moved to a full transfer continue to grow.
