INTERVIEW2022.2.22

Interview with Takuya AOKI

Q: After finishing the opening game, which is bigger in terms of challenges and response?
A, first of all, the start of the game was not good. Personally, I strongly feel that I want to fix that. I wanted to calm the game down more. I was conscious of entering the game, but there were parts that were not fully communicated to everyone, including the formation, and I think that's why it didn't go well.

Q, Was there frequent correction during the pre-game period?
A, I was able to talk, but in the end, I think the timing when the play was interrupted was when I was able to make a clear correction.

Q, Has player Aoki ever talked to anyone around him?
A, I gave instructions on positioning such as formation. I'm not sure if it was smooth, but after that, we were able to move the ball much better.

Q, how was it as the tempo picked up in the second half?
A, both offense and defense were coordinated, and we were able to move the ball and progress the game, so I think there were many good moments.

Q, I think we were able to create quite a few chances.
A, there was a sense of accomplishment in that part.

Q, Is this a game where you can clearly see the direction in which things will change if you make corrections here?
A, I think the development will change depending on the situation in the upcoming game, but I think it is heading in a good direction. That was good.

Q: Are there any negative aspects to the result of defeat?
A, personally, I think there was. The first 15 minutes was a game where the opponent could have won. However, I think our time was longer after that. In that sense, I think it was a game where we had to take 3 points or at least 1 point.

Q, Have there been any gaps between what you have been working on in practice since the start and your actual style during games? Were you able to fill those gaps during the games?
A, it's half and half. There were some good parts. However, I've been saying this since the camp, but when it comes to my position, it's been said that the game is decided by the first play, so I have a strong image of not being able to control it at first.

Q, What will you be working on for the next game?
A, the start of the game is both a personal challenge and a team challenge.
