4/23 Match Preview against Iwata

The busy schedule of seven consecutive matches that started right at the beginning of April has reached its final match. This is the fifth match of the group stage of the Levain Cup. We will be facing Júbilo Iwata away. With only two matches left in the group stage, Tokyo, currently in third place, aims for a must-win match to secure a spot in the playoffs by finishing in second place or higher.

Due to the two-day gap since the last match (April 20th J1 League match against Nagoya), there is a possibility of significantly changing the lineup for this match, just like in the fourth match against Shonan Bellmare, by actively utilizing young players. In the match against Shonan, Renta HIGASHI, who is registered as a U-18 player, was used as a starter, and Kashif BANGNAGANDE, who has just returned from a major injury, was brought on in the final stages of the match, showcasing the active selection of young talent.

Of course, the stance is not that it's okay to lose just because young players are being used. There is always a commitment to winning, and even in the match against Shonan where we were behind in the second half, we sent young players onto the pitch one after another, giving them the mission to catch up and turn the game around. Especially since tomorrow's match is a direct confrontation between the top two teams, it is also a great opportunity to close the gap in points.

It will serve as a challenge for young players, while also being an important opportunity for experienced players. Demonstrating a professional attitude towards the game and a commitment to winning for the fans and supporters through their play. Additionally, embodying how to manage the 90 minutes to secure victory and exemplifying professional game management. There are expectations for them to set an example for young players while leading the team to the playoffs.

Tomorrow's match against Jubilo Iwata will be significant for advancing to the playoffs and for enhancing future strength through the active use of young players.
