Day 8 of the camp was rainy and chilly. Practice was only held in the morning.
Despite it being a weekday, many spectators came to watch. With so many people watching, the players are also motivated during practice.
Among them, the children of Kunigami Kindergarten made and brought Tokyo flags one by one to cheer on the players.
After doing step-based training, we will do acceleration runs, passing work, and positional games with the goalkeeper included. We will continue to train in situations that simulate actual matches.
At the end, the players were divided by area and we did a menu of 4 vs 4, 3 vs 3 plus 1 free man, and 6 vs 6 using the pitch widely.
Tomorrow, we will have our second practice match at the Okinawa camp.
This will be a good opportunity for each player to test the sense of accomplishment and challenges they felt in the first game.
Through the interviews conducted at this camp, we often heard the words "winning the league title" from the players. For Tokyo, each day becomes incredibly important in order to achieve the long-awaited title, and we can feel that from the attitude of the players who are dedicated to their training.
On the 8th day of camp, we interviewed Diego OLIVEIRA, who was appointed as captain.
Q, how do you feel about being appointed captain for the second consecutive season?
A, I am of course honored to be appointed as captain. I have been in Tokyo for a long time, so I want to contribute to the team with even more sense of responsibility.
Q, how is your condition on the 8th day of camp?
A, As each day passes, my condition is getting better. Unfortunately, I had to take a break last season due to an injury and was in rehabilitation, but I believe my condition has improved. So, I think I can play in even better condition in the opening game.
Q, We had our first practice game the other day, and we have another one tomorrow. How is the coordination and overall performance with the other players?
As time goes by, I think our combination will get better. There are also many new players joining, so I want to practice and play with them to create good teamwork.
Q, I think Diego TABA is playing an important role this season as well.
A, Last season, I couldn't contribute much to the team due to injuries, which was disappointing. However, this season, I have no injuries or pain so far, so I want to work even harder to contribute more than last year.
Q, What is your impression of the new incoming players? There is also Nakagawa in the nearby position.
A, of course, I knew about Nakagawa's presence and recognized him as a great player, so I am very happy that he came to Tokyo and I believe he will contribute greatly to the team.
Q, What is your goal for this season?
First and foremost, it is important to win each and every game. We want to have a good season this year. By winning, I believe we will also get closer to our goals.
Q, what preparations do you need to make for that?
A, during this time we will continue with rigorous training, but it is important to build up here in order to fight for a year. I believe that each and every one of us should put our full effort into training.
