6/24 Nagoya Match MATCH REVIEW & INTERVIEW

<Match Review>
Tokyo, who suffered three consecutive losses in the last three matches of the first half of the league, welcomed new coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI and started the second half with a fresh start.

Coach Kramofsky's debut. The goalkeeper is Jakub Swoboda. The defense line is made up of Kei Koizumi on the right, Masato Morishige, Enrique Trevizan, and Yuto Nagatomo. Kuryu Matsuki and Shuto Abe were given the double pivot roles. Ryoma Watanabe is in the attacking midfield position. Diego Oliveira is the lone striker, with Teruhito Nakagawa on the right wing and Kota Tawaratsumida on the left wing.

1stHALF - Peter CKLAMOVSKI's team takes the lead with a goal by Diego

Under the new coach, Tokyo enters the Nagoya Grampus territory with high intensity and momentum from the start. They fight tenaciously for the ball, quickly press towards the ball side, and swiftly switch to attack after regaining possession. They also quickly return to defense after losing the ball.

Both teams have a fast vertical speed, and the game will be open from the beginning. However, Tokyo will continue to persistently move the ball vertically without easily losing possession.

In the 17th minute of the first half, Diego TABA, who had the ball on the left side, dribbled and crossed the ball towards the goal line in the negative direction. Watanabe, who was waiting near the goal, made a powerful direct shot, but it narrowly missed the top of the frame.

As expectations for a goal rise, the game changes in the 18th minute of the first half. When Watanabe receives the ball in front of the penalty area, he passes it to Diego, who is inside the penalty area. Diego receives the ball while carrying an opponent defender and makes a perfect turn, shooting with his left foot into the bottom left corner of the goal, successfully giving Tokyo the lead.

Tokyo continued to push forward without losing momentum even after taking the lead, but in the 34th minute of the first half, Nakagawa was substituted due to an accident and Tsukagawa Koki was sent onto the pitch in his place.

In the latter part of the first half, Nagoya launched a counterattack and continued to be pushed back, but when they regained possession, they were able to keep the ball easily. As they moved the ball to a higher position, players on the ball side moved closer, aiming to break through the situation through coordination and cooperation.

2ndHALF - High Press & Duel lead to new coach's first victory

As the second half begins, Tokyo once again steps up their gear and pushes Nagoya forward, forward. Their defense on the ball side remains strong, not allowing Nagoya to build up their attacks as they please.

The high pressure on the front line took away the precision and speed of build-up from Nagoya, and instead Tokyo took the ball at a high position and created opportunities to launch thick attacks. In the 13th minute of the second half, they continued to take the ball at a high position and earned a corner kick. Matsuki's ball was met by Diego's exquisite header, but the shot narrowly missed above the goal.

Even in the middle of the second half, Tokyo maintains their intensity in the ball battles. In the 31st minute of the second half, Matsuki gets a chance for a free kick on the left side and crosses the ball into the box, but Henrique's header narrowly misses the left goal post.

After the immediate goal kick, Diego TABA picked up the back pass and scored a goal by pressing hard from the front against Nagoya's build-up. He managed to avoid the opposing goalkeeper and took a shot, but unfortunately it missed to the left of the goal.

Tokyo took the lead and created scoring opportunities, but they were unable to score any additional goals. However, in the 35th minute of the second half, the long-awaited goal was finally scored. Matsuki passed the ball deep into the opponent's left side from the center, and Abe made a run and calmly supplied a pinpoint cross into the goal area. Diego, who was waiting in front of the goal, took advantage of the goalkeeper's position and headed the ball into the net, extending Tokyo's lead.

As the game entered its final stages, the substitute players were brought on and responded by chasing the ball from the front line, fighting with intensity in the duels without letting up. The high pressure and thick attacks lasting 90 minutes, as well as the duels on the ball. In his first game with Klamovski Tokyo, he successfully left a strong impact and earned 3 points at home at Ajinomoto Stadium.

[Peter CKLAMOVSKI Coach Press Conference Comments]

Q, please give us an overview of today's first match.
A, I am proud of the players and staff for being able to produce a strong performance. I think we were able to have a good preparation thanks to the support we received this week. In the midst of that, we were able to incorporate key rules and regulations and it brought stability to our defense, and we were also able to move the ball in the attacking phase. I think they showed what they have been working on in practice. I truly believe that they fought with dedication, worked hard, and had a strong belief, and I think we were able to have a battle worthy of winning.

Q, What did you do to build relationships with players during the short preparation period?
A, I think we were able to show what we focused on in training. It is important for the team to continue to evolve, but it was also important to know what we needed to do to defeat Nagoya. We have also worked on areas such as physical fitness and intensity, as we need to give our all in both offense and defense. The players gave their all and I think they were rewarded for their efforts. The fans and supporters gave us a great boost. When the players were tired, they were able to push through with the support from the fans.

Q, please tell us the goal of today's match.
A, I think we were able to fully demonstrate what we have been practicing. There are still areas for improvement, and we need to continue to work on them in order to become better. We have been doing what we need to do in our daily practices. I believe we were able to show our physicality and play our game well. The hard work that the players have put in deserves a victory. We were able to show a strong team performance and I think they did well. However, I also think there are still many areas that need improvement.

[Player Interview]
<Diego OLIVEIRA>

Q, it was a great performance with 2 goals. Please review the goal scenes.
The first goal was received from Ryoma WATANABE and swung his left foot after receiving a pass to put in a wedge. The shot flowed into a difficult course for the opponent's goalkeeper in a good shape. As for the second goal, a slightly higher cross ball was sent to the front of the goal from Shuto ABE. I predicted that it would go over the head of the defender who came in front of me, and I was able to score a goal by going around behind and hitting it well with my head.

Q, facing away from the goal, a shot from the reverse. What kind of image did you have when you swung your left foot?
A, I had a clear image of where the goal was located and the opponent's position before turning around. After trapping the ball, I focused on the angle of my shot and swung my left foot.

Q, Diego TABA led the attack as the starting point in the one-top position. Please tell us what you were conscious of throughout the 90 minutes.
A, today's match was not just about me, but the whole team was able to work hard. I think our victory was a result of everyone running hard and being able to fight on both offense and defense. I believe this was a victory that we all grabbed together.

Q, we were able to grab the victory in a good form today. Please give us your enthusiasm from here on.
A, We will be able to play at home in the next match as well, so while respecting our opponents, we want to aim for consecutive home wins and build momentum from here.

Ryoma WATANABE

Q, please review the game.
A, If we can always play a 90-minute game with this kind of performance, I think we will lose less. There were more scenes that we should have scored than goals, so if we can score in those moments and avoid conceding, I believe our ranking will naturally improve.

Q, please review the scene of the first goal.
A, At first, I was trying to pass the ball on the ground, but I couldn't because the opponent player was in the way. However, both Teruhito NAKAGAWA and Diego OLIVEIRA were visible, so I considered the opponent player's body direction and passed a lob pass to Diego. During the game, I always watched Diego's movements and tried to pass to him. There were some scenes where I could have passed if I had watched more beforehand, so I will reflect on that and try to use it in the next game.

Q, Throughout the game, there was a strong presence on both offense and defense, such as blocking Nagai's shot just before the end of the first half. What were you conscious of during the game?
A, during the match, due to Nakagawa's injury, I changed positions to the side and from there I was conscious of following the opponent's wing player during defense. I wasn't particularly focused on the defensive aspect, but as a team we were conscious of the defense we needed to do, and that resulted in the play we saw.

Q, Please give us your enthusiasm for the next match against Kashiwa Reysol.
A, We will continue to train daily to further strengthen ourselves and aim to deliver a high-intensity match like today's to our fans and supporters.

<Henrique TREVISAN>

Q, A goal was born from Henrique Trevisan's interception. What was your focus throughout the 90 minutes?
A new coach has taken over and I think the team is going through a transitional period. After winning the ball, we were conscious of getting it to the players up front. In that regard, Diego OLIVEIRA scored a goal in a good way.

Q, what instructions did the coach give regarding defense for the game?
A, Nagoya is a team that uses solid defense and quick attacks as their weapons, so Coach CKLAMOVSKI told us to quickly switch between offense and defense and to immediately regain possession if we lose the ball.

Q, his play shone in everything from high interceptions to attacking participation.
A, I think the most important thing is to continue playing well from now on. In order to do that, I think it is necessary to practice and level up, so I want to continue to play well with the team.

<Kota TAWARATSUMIDA>

Q, it was my first start in a while. Can you tell me what you were conscious of throughout the game?
A, first of all, I was conscious of entering the game with a high defensive intensity, and I thought that if I couldn't fight in defense, it wouldn't matter. I was given the chance to start, so I approached the game with a strong mindset. I also wanted to play for 90 minutes, but my stamina, which is a challenge for me, started to show. After I was substituted, I entrusted everything to the players on the pitch.

Q, Our play that fully utilized our strengths shined. Please tell us what you particularly focused on in terms of attacking.
As for me, I was only focused on "getting results" for today's game. However, we were unable to achieve the desired results and I am very disappointed. There were many tactical aims for this game, so there are many things I cannot comment on, but I believe that utilizing my dribbling skills can be a plus for the team. I especially focused on making dribble breakthroughs and creating goal-scoring opportunities in today's game.

Q, We were able to progress through the second half of the league in a good form. Please tell us your enthusiasm from here on.
A, I want to activate the team with plays that utilize dribbling, and I believe that by increasing the number of plays where I attack towards the goal, results will come. In order for the team to move in a positive direction from here, I want to express myself through my plays and be able to ride on a good flow. As an individual, I will pursue results.
