7/24 Riki HARAKAWA Loan Transfer Interview
"To enhance my own value"

Q: What were your feelings when making the decision for this transfer?
A, looking back on my career so far, I have little experience of staying long at the same club, and I understand the advantages and disadvantages of transferring. It coincided with a time when I wanted to change my environment and seek new stimulation, so I decided to transfer to Tokyo.

Q: What was your state of mind when you received the offer?
I think it was relatively quick to decide on a loan transfer to Tokyo. I had a desire and feeling to play from zero in a different environment. This is my first experience with a summer transfer, and I've heard that it's difficult, but I'm looking forward to seeing how I will develop from here.

Q: This season, how did you feel while playing despite not getting much playing time?
While it is important to practice consistently, it is crucial for players to participate in official matches. I believe there are many things that can only be gained through games, so I want to be actively involved in the match roster. Since Peter CKLAMOVSKI has just taken over as coach during the season, I want to keep in mind the style of play and tactics we want to express as a team and play accordingly.

Q: Is this a transfer in search of playing opportunities?
A, that's right. If I don't participate in matches, my sense of rhythm and feeling will fade. I want to improve so that I can consistently play.

Q: How did you view Tokyo as an opponent?
A, there is a very strong impression of aggressive play in both offense and defense, with a strong awareness of moving forward.

Q: As a member of Tokyo, how do you want to contribute to the team with your play?
I believe that midfielders, especially the ones in the defensive role, are required to have a high level of physical activity, and I want to contribute more in the attacking part. During my time at Cerezo Osaka, I had many opportunities to play in the anchor position, which meant I was less involved in attacking plays. I want to regain the feeling of being involved in the attack and scoring goals, like I did when I was with Sagan Tosu, here in Tokyo.

Q: The league has entered the second half of the season. How do you want to spend the rest of the season?
Since I have transferred to Tokyo, I want to achieve results first. If I don't produce results, I believe it will be difficult to integrate into the team, especially since I joined during the summer transfer window. I want to find a balance between understanding what Coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI is looking for in terms of football and how to showcase my own characteristics within that.

Q, it seems that it doesn't take much time to fit into Tokyo's soccer style.
During my time at C Osaka, I played in a somewhat deeper position, so I didn't get involved in many goal-scoring plays. I believe that box-to-box play is required in Tokyo, and I want to regain my sense of involvement in goal-scoring plays. I watched a Tokyo match, and I noticed that the defensive midfielders advanced and played forward quite often, so I want to be more conscious of plays in front of the goal.

Q: Although it is a half-season loan, what kind of career do you want to pursue from here?
I left C Osaka with the desire to level up once again. Watching players with long careers, I see that they maintain high performance even after turning 30. I decided to transfer with the feeling of wanting to enhance my own value in Tokyo.
