2024 CAMP INTERVIEW
TRAINING MATCH vs.FC RYUKYU

<Peter CKLAMOVSKI Coach>
Q: It was an early practice match at the beginning of camp; how do you evaluate it?
A, I believe we were able to showcase the good aspects of our growth. There were elements of what we are trying to achieve that we were able to express, and I see that positively. In terms of our physical activity, I think it was a match where we were able to build our stamina well. We were able to score in a good way, and it was a match where we saw good signs. The players gave their all, and we achieved good results physically. Now, I hope we can continue to develop each element of what we want to do.

Q: A total of 8 goals were scored, can you tell us about that feeling?
I think it was a very good result. Even in situations where we didn't score, we were able to play in a way that posed a threat to the opponent. I believe we were able to deliver something very exciting. I want to continue to grow from here so that we can become an even greater threat. It was a good day, but I think there were many things we needed to do.

Q: What areas do you want to further improve as a team?
A, everything. I think the attack is growing in some areas. I want to create something stronger and more entertaining. To become a strong team, I also want to instill a solid awareness of defense. There is a lot to build on in all aspects, including attack, defense, and set plays. I have discussed these topics with the team, and it was good to score from a set play in today's practice match.

Q: This was your first practice match of the season, how was it?
I'm glad that we were able to deliver good performance both in terms of condition and the content of the match.

Q: We were able to keep a clean sheet in the first half.
As a defender, being able to finish any match without conceding a goal leads to confidence. Everyone was focused, and it was great that we could work hard and keep a clean sheet.

Q: What kind of feedback did you have as an individual?
A, there are still areas that need improvement, but I believe we have made some progress in the part of taking the ball away that we have been working on during camp, so I think we are on track.

<Kashif BANGNAGANDE>
Q, please review the game.
As a team, we have many challenges, but we were able to finish our first practice match with a victory. In the first half, we managed to keep a clean sheet, and although we had chances that we needed to convert, I believe it is a great plus that we were able to score 3 goals and achieve a positive result. Of course, there are many areas for improvement in both defense and attack, so I hope we can work on these improvements in our upcoming training during camp. I think everyone feels that we can improve, so I want us to keep getting better.

Q: Which areas do you think need improvement?
There were several moments when the timing of pressing in defense was off, and there were scenes where the attack didn't connect. I believe that compared to last season, we are creating significantly more chances in today's match, so I see it positively that if we can improve, we could score even more goals.

Q: The second goal was initiated by a press from player Yoshifumi.
A, in the first period of the first half, we struggled to apply pressure. After discussing it at halftime and clarifying what we needed to do, it became easier to press, and we improved in the second half, managing to score. I'm glad we were able to effectively address the issues during the match.

Q: It seemed like you were playing while considering the timing and positioning of your offensive participation compared to last season.
A new attacking player has joined, and the plays required of the full-backs have significantly increased compared to last season. There are still many aspects that I haven't fully grasped yet. I feel that if I can master this part, it will broaden the scope and possibilities of my own play, so I find it enjoyable. There are many coaches who teach positioning, so I ask a lot of questions. In today's match, I am working on positioning and sharing awareness while communicating with the newly joined Keita ENDO, enjoying the process of trial and error.

<Keita ENDO>
Q: This was your first practice match since joining the team. Please reflect on the match.
A, I felt like I finally played a match after a long time. I had been unable to participate in matches in Germany for a while, but I continued my training in my own way, so there were no physical issues. I think the team was able to play good football, and through today's match, we identified some challenges, so I would like to discuss them with my teammate Kashif BANGNAGANDE.

Q: What was the most difficult thing during the time you were unable to participate in matches?
A, it was tough watching the match from the stands since I was out of the bench for a while. However, after the match, I went to the gym and trained to be ready to perform when the opportunity arises. It was just one match, but it was really fun.

Q: What was your biggest takeaway from participating in the match after a long time?
The most important thing is that we were able to finish without injuries. As a team, we were able to score goals, and I was also involved in the goals, so it was good.

Q: Do you feel a sense of connection in the frontline?
There were scenes where goals were scored through individual ability, as well as scenes where goals were scored through combinations. I think it was good that we were able to play with high precision.
