The camp has reached its 10th day, and today is the final day of the camp in Kunigami Village. As we were preparing to move in the afternoon, we had a light training session in the morning.
The opening was a game-style icebreaker. We fostered the coordination between the head and body by following the coach's instructions.
After that, we split into two groups and conducted training focused on shooting and attacking in front of the goal.
In shooting training, the ability to make quick decisions and be decisive in front of the goal is required, and in the training of attacking and defending in front of the goal on half court, the strength in ball control that coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI has strongly demanded since last season has been demonstrated, and at the same time, the completion level of playing the game by using the pitch widely has been improved.
After the end of the full team practice, we took a commemorative photo with everyone from the facilities at Kaigin Field Kunigami, who took care of us during the Okinawa Kunigami Camp, as well as the staff at our accommodations and the people from Kunigami Village. Once again, thank you to everyone who supported the Kunigami Camp.
After the end of practice, an interview was conducted with player number 7, Kuryu MATSUKI.
Q, Today marks the end of the Okinawa Kunigami Camp. Can you tell us about your impressions of the first camp?
A, we were able to share each category of attack, defense, and set plays in detail as a team, and I think we were able to create a good foundation.
Q, I felt that there were many practices to improve and polish the accuracy of what we have built up as a team since last season.
There are also new players who have joined, and I think there are many players with unique characteristics in Tokyo. Coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI is entering his second season, and I feel that the understanding of each player towards the style of soccer we want to express as a team has increased. Also, with a good team of players, I have a sense of accomplishment in creating a good team.
Q, on the 23rd, there was also a practice match with FC Ryukyu. How much of the results from the first camp were you able to express on the pitch?
Coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI has asked the team to share the space in the front line as a whole. I think we did well in that aspect in the Ryukyu match. Many goals were also created in terms of goal conversion rate. While there are still challenges in terms of conceding goals, I believe it is important for the team to increase the number of clean sheet games. We will work on fixing the areas that were identified as challenges during the second and third camps.
Q, In practice matches, Matsuki himself was seen playing in a higher position more often than last season.
A, I think we are being asked to score. Coach CKLAMOVSKI also aims for a team that can score with four players in the front line, so I want to contribute to that.
Q: Only one week left until the end of the camp. What points do you want to improve on as you prepare for the start of the league?
A, we also have a practice match coming up, so I'm really looking forward to it. I want to confirm how we will position ourselves against the opponent's press and how we will pass the ball. We did a lot of set piece training at the Okinawa Kunigami camp. I hope to turn our training into results.
