TERAYAMA TSUBASA

With continuous hard work as a weapon, seeking visible results
MF 17 Tsubasa TERAYAMA

A special content introducing all the blue and red warriors challenging the 2024 season. What are the players, who are about to start the season, thinking and what determination do they have as they face the year? The stories of the players, who hold in their hearts their love for the club, their thirst for titles, their aspirations for success, and the roles they must fulfill──. In Tokyo, where the competition for positions is fierce, second-year professional Tsubasa TERAYAMA is taking on the challenge. With the playing style demanded by the coach, he is determined to increase his presence and focus on results with an aggressive attitude.

Tsubasa TERAYAMA spent six years in the FC Tokyo academy during middle and high school, and after attending Juntendo University, which shares the same blue and red team colors, he joined the top team for the 2023 season. Despite the chaos of last season, including a coaching change, his love for the club remains unchanged, and his strong desire to "play in matches and win with this team" is the driving force in his second season as a professional in Kodaira. The new season awaits with even fiercer competition than usual, but he has resolved to "learn from good players while showcasing my own strengths to fulfill my role in helping the team win."

He describes his characteristic as "playing aggressively." He always plays positively and has a style of fighting fiercely in situations. It's not just about moving forward, but also about the hard work of returning to defend, which seems to be appreciated by coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI. This is not only about the strength of intensity but also about contributing to the team in both offense and defense through continuous play. This is also a criterion for the coach's selection. The match between Terayama's strengths and the coach's standards has been a factor in increasing his presence since the end of last season.

In the new season that has begun, during the first practice match held at the Okinawa camp, I was treated as the 12th player, meaning I started on the bench against FC Ryukyu. To break out of this and become part of the main squad, it is crucial to showcase my strengths in the attacking aspect and deliver results. At such a time, the club's official SNS account introduced a dribbling shot during practice. Terayama himself mentioned, "Since I haven't scored in the J-League yet, I want to produce visible results such as assists and goals," indicating that his desire for 'results' is definitely increasing.

Until now, I have always focused on being the hardest worker and the loudest voice within the team during practice matches. Last season, I started in the final match of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League against Shonan Bellmare and reached a point where I showed some close finishing moments. The key points from here are continuity and results. Even as a defensive midfielder, I will step up and get involved in goals when the opportunity arises. I have a clear image of how to utilize myself in the team for the 2024 season.

I want to be someone who speaks up and energizes the team through my play when they are struggling.

In order to become Tokyo's "Captain Tsubasa," Tsubasa TERAYAMA will work hard with the top team and turn that effort into results.
