The speed star leading Tokyo to victory
With all his heart and soul, he aims for a complete comeback
FW 39 Teruhito NAKAGAWA
A special content introducing all the blue and red warriors challenging the 2024 season. What are the players, who are about to start the season, thinking and what kind of determination are they bringing into the year? The stories of the players, who hold in their hearts their love for the club, their thirst for titles, their aspirations for success, and the roles they must fulfill──. Teruhito NAKAGAWA, who has experienced two league championships with Yokohama F.Marinos and became a member of the blue and red in the 2023 season as "the man who knows the taste of victory". However, last season, he spent time that was unsatisfactory both personally and as a team. A growing sense of crisis within him. He, who has often spoken through his actions, is raising expectations for himself and those around him, aiming to lead Tokyo to its first league championship.

In the second season of the blue-red battle, fighting with all his heart and soul. Teruhito NAKAGAWA's strong desire to "make Tokyo the champion" remains unwavering this season. The blonde speedster leads the team with his play and words.
Last season, in his first year after the transfer, it was a disappointing season where he could not be satisfied with either his performance or the team's results. This is understandable. He ended up with only 4 goals, and in the second half of the season, he did not shake the goal net even once. The team also struggled, finishing in 11th place, sinking below 10th for the first time in 6 seasons, and consistently performing poorly. After the season, the words he expressed were naturally filled with reflections on his performance. It became a season where he shook his head more often in disappointment than nodding in agreement.
That is why my feelings for the new season are stronger than anyone else's. I will boldly express the attitudes and elements that the team lacks and demand rigorously from those around me. The man who often conveyed messages through actions in the past is now trying to demonstrate them through words and actions.
"I've been saying this since last season, but I think it's necessary for everyone in Tokyo to come together and become stronger as a family while solving each problem one by one. If we do that, I believe we have the strength to win the league championship. The joy of winning the league title after working hard step by step is beyond comparison."
For Tokyo to taste the long-awaited joy, the performance of number 39 is essential. The style of football that head coach Peter CKLAMOVSKI aims for in his second season is clearly defined, and if Nakagawa can play comfortably at the forefront, it should naturally be a sign that the team's gears are meshing well.
TERRY says, "I have a strong desire to change this club." Since becoming a member of the blue and red, his attitude and words have been unwavering. The determination of a man dreaming of his third league championship will change Tokyo.
