A, that's right. I want to be able to bring what we are practicing into the matches. The team hasn't been able to score, but there have been chances where we could have, and I want to be able to play calmly in those situations during actual games. In practice, besides those breakdown scenes, we were also able to effectively use space from the back and connect passes. I want to continue to be able to show that.
Q, Hiroshima is in very good form.
A, it's a really good team. They are currently in good form and have momentum, so I think it will be a tough match. However, we want to put everything we have into it and aim to win and take the 3 points from them. I think Hiroshima is really a good team in both offense and defense. They have good players in every position, and as a team, they have a clear idea of the football they want to play. I believe it will be a really tough match. In our last encounter, we surprisingly had some time to maintain possession of the ball, and we were able to play our style of football. I want to fight just like we did last time.
Q: What do you think is necessary to achieve victory in these difficult matches?
I think we just need to believe in the style of football the coach wants to play. We are thoroughly focusing on attacks from the sides, so if we can enhance the strengths from the flanks and coordinate the timing to move inside from there, I believe it will lead to goals. Right now, we are unable to score and achieve victories, so I want to prioritize scoring as a team and winning.
Q: Please share your enthusiasm for the match against Hiroshima.
A, as for my own play, I think the best thing would be to ensure that the attack flows smoothly and leads to goals. In the last few matches, the timing of the goals conceded has just been unfortunate, and I don't have a bad impression of our ball movement. I also don't have a bad impression from our last match against Hiroshima, so I want to build our attack as usual, increase our shots, and score more goals. I believe we have established our own style and are the most dynamic team in the J1 League. We have already faced each other three times this season, and there are many aspects of what Hiroshima has been building that we understand from our matches, so I want to enter the game well-organized.
Q, In the home match against Hiroshima in Sec. 2, it ended in a 1-1 draw. What points should we be cautious about against the well-performing Hiroshima?
There were many wasted opportunities due to our own mistakes. In the Levain Cup match against Hiroshima, we conceded a goal immediately after scoring, and although we drew in our home opener, the performance was not very good, and it was a match where we made a comeback in the second half. I don't think we were overpowered, and I believe the key is how we can navigate the high press from the opponent. I think that by facing it well, chances will come for us as well.
Q: It will be a series of away games. What is important for victory once again?
In the previous match against Kyoto SANGA F.C., as well as in away games, we have been overwhelmed by the opponent's momentum. Therefore, we need to pay attention to how we start the match, confront the opponent with our own style and fearless play, and remember to approach the game as challengers.
