Q, Please tell us your impression of Yokohama FC as they prepare to face off in the J1 League opening match.
A, last season we showed an amazing performance in the J2 league, and we are coming into the league opening game with that momentum. I think it will be a very difficult match, but we have been able to continue our preparations in a good shape since the Okinawa camp. We are well prepared and we want to have a good game. I'm looking forward to it.
Q, How do you feel about the current team atmosphere from player Kento HASHIMOTO's perspective?
Although there may be a strong impression of many young players, veteran players such as Yuto NAGATOMO and Masato MORISHIGE are showing intense play during practice, creating a good atmosphere and momentum.
Q, At the J-League opening event, you mentioned "tackle" as a play you would like to see.
A, I personally specialize in contributing to the team in defense and being conscious of quickly becoming the starting point of attack after stealing the ball. I want to contribute to the team by actively stealing the ball in the midfield position in order to develop an attacking style of football and embody that style.
Q, how was the finish of the Okinawa camp?
A, The camp was able to be carried out while all players were conscious of what coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI is seeking. There are some parts that are still groping, but I think it will take shape from here. We have been told by the coach to play soccer where we control the ball and take the initiative. We are constantly told to "be more aggressive".
