INTERVIEW2022.1.30

Interview with Kensuke NAGAI

Q, it was the first practice match against a J1 team since starting the new football approach. How did it feel?
A, it still feels like the entire team is making a lot of easy mistakes. If we make such mistakes in official matches, it will lead to conceding goals, so I have a sense of urgency that we need to correct this in the remaining time, including the one-week camp.

Q: Are we currently in the stage of repeating trial and error?
Yes, that's right. The mistakes that come from taking on a challenge are completely different from the mistakes made by doing nothing, so we are all confirming this while taking on challenges. We are always discussing how to solve the issues that arise from our challenges and improve.

Q: How do you feel about your own progress while taking on this new challenge in soccer?
A, the coach emphasizes the importance of maintaining possession of the ball, while also wanting the team to take initiative when the opportunity arises. I hope we can create more situations to take initiative. Since the camp has only been underway for two weeks, I want to improve our precision in the remaining week and head into the opening match in good condition.

Q: I would like to enhance communication among the players even more.
I feel that communication on the pitch is more necessary than ever. I think the defense at the moment we lose the ball will be crucial, so I want us to raise our voices and improve together.

Q: What level do you want to reach by the end of the remaining camp?
First, I want to make sure my health is in good condition and improve my fitness during the remaining camp.
