[Player/Coach Comments]
The second half ended in a draw, but it was a rewarding game.
The Kagoshima camp, which started on the 22nd, will also come to an end with this pre-season match. The opponent for the first official match of the year is Kyoto Purple Sanga, who is also holding a camp in the same Kagoshima prefecture. Kyoto is aiming to return to J2 this season after one year and is strengthening their team. They are a formidable opponent.
Today's formation was the same as the starting lineup for the Oita game two days ago, with Toda and Suzuki on both sides and a combination of Lucas and Abe as the two top players. Coach Hara approached the game by saying, "We just have to do what we've been practicing all along. I want you to give it your all and use the strength you have. I know you may be tired, but I want you to be aggressive from the first half and go as far as you can." It was clear that he was appealing to the players during the adjustment phase.
When the game starts, we press from the front and try to steal the ball. When we have the ball, we simply connect it to the space for the FW. In the 4th minute of the start, a throw-in on the right side after the right CK was cleared. Miyazawa, who remained on the front line, quickly passed it vertically to Akachi, who received it and sent a low cross to the center, where Lucas jumped in and pushed it into the goal while falling on the near side. With an early lead from the new force of the season, the team gained momentum and continued to overwhelm Kyoto. Jean and Fujiyama hold down Kyoto's pride, Choi and Kurobe's two top players. In the midfield, Miyazawa is the base and uses Suzuki and Toda's speed to shake the opponent with long balls. In the 36th minute, when Akachi received the ball on the right side from Miura in the center, he made a big cross to the center. Abe, who was waiting in front of the goal, won the header against the opponent and scored the second goal. On the other hand, Kyoto also tried to retaliate with a counterattack, but since Choi was substituted due to injury just after the 30th minute of the first half, they lost their attacking base and were unable to create any decisive chances before the end of the first half.
At halftime, "Kyoto will surely come back from the first half performance. Let's firmly accept that. However, it is also necessary to observe the opponent's condition, but do not let the defensive line drop too much," said coach Hara, tightening up the players once again.
Kyoto made two substitutions from the start of the second half and changed their formation from 3-back to 4-back. This seemed to have an effect as Kyoto gradually pulled the flow of the game towards them. Just like in the first half, Tokyo's Toda, Abe, Lucas, and others were actively attacking the ball. However, despite taking the ball and making their way towards the goal, they were unable to score. It became a back and forth battle, with both teams having chances, but it was Kyoto who was able to convert. In the 72nd minute, a pass from Lucas to Miyazawa in the center of the pitch was intercepted, leading to a counter attack. Atsuta picked up the loose ball and dribbled towards the left, passing it to Tahara who ran in and took a shot. This resulted in a goal for Kyoto, making it 1-1. After equalizing, Kyoto regained their momentum and in the 80th minute, Tomita sent a high ball towards Atsuta in the center of the pitch. Atsuta then skillfully sent a high ball behind the defense line, where Kurobe ran in and scored an impressive goal, making it 2-2. In the remaining 10 minutes, both teams tried to take the lead but were unable to score, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
As for the game content, in the first half we completely dominated the game, but in the second half we ran out of steam and ended up being caught up. However, coach Hara looks back and says, "There were good points and areas to work on, so there is motivation for practice from now on." It seems that there are not only points for reflection. In addition, Suzuki and Lucas played the full 90 minutes, and Kobayashi returned to the top team's official match for the first time in about two years, creating high expectations for the upcoming league matches.
<Lucas's comment> The form of (scoring) is not that great, but it is important to score as a striker. My condition is not yet 100%, but it is improving. I want to continue practicing and improve my combination and condition.
<Player Miura's Comment>It was not good to be caught up by two points, but I think it's a good feeling towards the opening in two weeks. I don't think we were broken by conceding points, so I want to make corrections from now on.
