[Player and Coach Comments]

Makoto OKAZAKI

(Looking back at the match)
"There were times when we were pushed back by the opponent throughout the 90 minutes, and it became a difficult match, but it was good that we were able to secure the win. Above all, I think it's significant that we advanced to the next stage of the Emperor's Cup."

(In the second half, I changed my position from full-back to center-back)
"I was able to play without any discomfort after moving to the center. In the first half, I was a full-back, so I was particularly cautious at the start, but I think we were able to showcase each other's strengths as I partnered with Uchida on the left side."

I have experienced overseas tournaments with the Japan national team at various age levels. What I am more aware of is
that I have developed a strong awareness of winning battles for the ball. I do not want to lose in battles for the ball in the J.League as well.
It is significant that I was able to regain my match sense and stamina to fight for 90 minutes through international competitions. I feel that being able to maintain my condition even with the tight schedule of league matches, the Emperor's Cup, and the Levain Cup is due to the experience I gained from international competitions with the national team.

(Looking ahead)
"It is important how well we can fight while being in the position of being chased as the leaders. I believe that by the young players like us making our presence known and intensifying competition within the team, the team's condition will improve even more, so I want to build up from practice."

《Takuya UCHIDA》
(Looking back at the goal scene)
"Okazaki made the throw-in, and Yajima made a good drop, so I just had to calmly finish it off inside."

(It was a goal while competing with the opponent)
"Honestly, I was worried if it would go in, but I was really happy the moment the goal went in"

(I feel like I am climbing the stairs one step at a time)
"Since I haven't been able to participate in the league matches yet, I want to aim for that and work even harder to achieve results like goals and assists."

(I think I approached the match with a strong mindset today)
"Last year and this year, I lost opportunities due to injuries, so being able to seize this chance and achieve results is something that has been a challenge since last year. Achieving that is incredibly significant for both myself and the team."

《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"Toin Yokohama University was truly a wonderful team."
With maximum respect, we sent the players onto the pitch to fight with all the strength we have.
To be honest, I wanted to push the opponent more in the first 15 minutes, but we weren't able to do that, and we ended up being a bit flustered ourselves.

I think it was really significant that Uchida scored a goal at the start of the second half and we were able to take the lead.
The 2nd Round of the Emperor's Cup often features difficult matches. If we could have scored one more goal, it would have been perfect, but we struggled to finish, and the spirit of Toin Yokohama University showed, leading to a challenging development until the end.

The members who participated today fought until the end with a strong desire to show their strength in this match, which resulted in a victory without conceding any goals.
I believe that the strength of the Kanto Division 1 is considerable, and I think they approached this match with extraordinary determination, resulting in a wonderful game.
I want to prepare to win the next 3rd Round by making the most of this experience.

Did you see what I wanted the members to express from the coach's perspective today?
I think there were parts that were done well and parts that still need improvement.
However, I think Nakamura is gradually growing through today's match and the Levain Cup, and Okazaki and Watanabe played calmly until the end.
Regarding Niwa, his performance has not been improving until now, but I believe he did his job well today until he was substituted.
In that sense, if players like Yajima can score in matches like this, I think it will be exciting for the future, but today they couldn't capitalize on their chances, so I hope for further growth moving forward.

《Toin Yokohama University Coach Toru Yasutake Press Conference Summary》
I am happy to have played a match like this against a J League team. As a university student, I was able to put up a minimum level of fight. I also realized the areas where we fell short in the match against the team currently at the top of the J1 League, and I believe the players learned a lot from this experience, so I want to turn this experience into growth.
I want to make sure we can fight well in the league matches as well.

(What was the intention behind the starting lineup of FC Tokyo, which was also difficult to understand?)
"We weren't thinking about how to break down the opponent. We talked about properly showcasing what we usually do and aimed to play our own style of football as we approached the match."
