[Player and Coach Comments]
《Adailton》
"I thought today's match would be a difficult one, and it turned out to be just that. There were several players making their debut in this tournament, but I believe everyone gave more than 100% effort. It was a victory we achieved together. I want to rest well and prepare for the Final Round."
(How did you feel going into the match)
"Including myself, there were players who made their starting lineup debut in this tournament, but we prepared so that anyone who played could achieve good results. I'm glad we could win with the strength of the entire team."
(Looking back at the goal scene)
"I received a good pass from Shinada, so I was able to calmly decide while dribbling and keeping an eye on the GK's situation."
《Keigo HIGASHI》
(We finished the group stage final match with a victory. Reflecting on the match)
"Players who had not played until now started, and the whole team fought together. There were circumstances in Shanghai, but I think it is very significant that we won and advanced to the next round."
(Reflecting on the opening goal scene)
"Adailton made a great run, and Shinada delivered the pass at the perfect moment, allowing him to score the goal."
However, there were still many other chances, so we need to capitalize on them. Still, I think it's good that we were able to advance to the next round today.
(After the opening goal, the match became a closely contested affair. What did the team discuss?)
"We knew that the opponent, although they hadn't won in this tournament, was a good team with capable players, and we respected that."
There were times when we were under pressure with the ball, but it was good that we managed to keep a clean sheet and win.
(Determination for the next match after securing a spot in the Final Round)
"I want to do my best to play as many matches as possible here in Qatar. I want to work hard to show our Tokyo fans and supporters watching on TV many matches."
Tsuyoshi WATANABE
(During the time we were under attack, what kind of response were you planning to take)
"In this tournament, any team can score if you give them an opening, so during the times we had to endure defensively, we made sure to communicate and stay aware not to give any openings."
(Was leading the DF line, but how did it feel?)
"They were a strong opponent, so I thought it was important to communicate and defend together as a team. I believe we were able to defend well by communicating with player Niwa."
(Did you know the results from other venues during the match?)
"I didn't know. I expected Shanghai to play a match to score points, but I wasn't paying attention to it during our match."
(Towards the Final Round)
"We absolutely cannot lose. If given the opportunity to play, I want to fight hard and seize as many victories as possible."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Coach Kenta HASEGAWA》
Today, the players who have had fewer opportunities to play created the game. In particular, Adailton's opening goal gave the team courage.
While keeping an eye on the results from other venues, we wanted to score the next point and secure our advancement to the group stage, but we were not allowed an easy match.
I want to thank all the players for their hard work for the team's victory throughout the group stage.
(What was the intention behind changing the members, such as using players who are participating in the tournament for the first time?)
"In a previous press conference, I mentioned that 'all the players accompanying us can be sent into the match with confidence.' I believed that fresher players would perform better than those who are fatigued from consecutive matches. I trusted the players, and they responded to that trust."
(The feeling of victory in a match where we changed the members)
"After losing to Ulsan Hyundai FC, there was a moment when I thought it would be difficult to advance past the group stage. However, we were able to rally once again and secure our place in the Final Round. Since we have nothing to lose, I want to approach the next match with determination."
(What are your thoughts on the defensive players)
"In addition to the young players, the experienced player Niwa showcased his strengths and led the team. All four of them played wonderfully. I believe the young players will gain significant confidence not just from experience but from winning as well. By advancing to the Final Round, they will gain even more experience. I hope for further growth there."
(What kind of words were said to the players participating for the first time before the match)
"I told them to go for it and sent them off."
《Perth Glory, Coach Garcia Press Conference Summary》
Today's result was not a happy one.
Since the restart of the ACL, we have played 5 matches in 2 days, which has been very difficult, and we have made various efforts to win, but I thought today's opponent was the strongest.
Tokyo played very well and was a team deserving of victory.
I think the players from Perth played with concentration until the end.
