Stirring up Omiya DF, aiming for consecutive away wins
Sec. 29 will face Omiya Ardija and head to away Komaba. In the previous match against G Osaka, they achieved a dramatic comeback victory and are aiming for consecutive wins in this match. However, in this match, Kajiyama will be suspended due to accumulated warnings. Jean's left knee is also not in good condition, so he will be absent. In addition, during the first half of the week, Inonami, Kajiyama, and Hirayama were absent due to their activities with the Japan national team U-21, and in the match against China on the 25th (Wed), Inonami and Hirayama played the full match. After joining the team, they have been working on a separate training menu, but their condition is a concern.
Omiya, who they will face, is currently in 12th place. They had a losing streak after two draws from the 20th section, but they won against Chiba in the previous section, and their team situation can be said to be similar to Tokyo's. Their aim is to counterattack from a solid defense centered around a 4-back, and their new addition, FW Allison, has fit well into the team. He scored his first goal in the previous section, and his form is improving. In particular, they should be wary of FW Daisuke Kobayashi, as all their attacks start from him. In order to mark FW Daisuke Kobayashi, Inaba will face him, and Shigetaka will mark the speedy FW Allison.
Tokyo will start Baba instead of Hirayama. In the attack, Toda and Ishikawa will run and try to break through the opponent's defense line to create chances. This is an important match for Tokyo to make a comeback towards the end of the season. Although it is an away game, they will go for the 3 points with an aggressive play. Miyazawa will start as a defensive midfielder alongside Imakawa, who has not started since the September 30th match against Niigata. Masushima will also be on the bench for the first time since the August 30th match against C Osaka, and the game started at 2pm at Omiya.
Kono's two consecutive goals gave us an early lead.
The game started off with a bang. In less than a minute, Toda attempted to break through on the left side of the opponent's field and drew a foul, earning a free kick. In the first minute, Inoue jumped forward and scored a beautiful header off of Miyazawa's kick, giving us the lead with Inoue's second consecutive goal in two games!
At 8 minutes, Tokyo gave a FK to Omiya in the center of the Tokyo team. Omiya FW Erik's kick flew in front of Doi, but he couldn't catch it. DF Hato followed up on the ball that spilled into the right area and took a shot. It narrowly missed the goal and the goal was saved. After surviving the pinch, Miyazawa started to run towards the opponent's DF with Toda and Ishikawa. Baba also actively aimed for a shot. At 12 minutes, Baba's middle shot had momentum but was punched away by the opponent's GK. At 13 minutes, Toda approached near the goal from Inoue's cross on the right side, but the shot didn't hit.
However, Tokyo was unable to keep up with the rhythm and as time passed, Omiya gradually took control and the game became a back and forth battle. In the 20th minute, Omiya FW Allison crossed the ball and FW Kobayashi Daichi jumped in, but Tsuchi caught it firmly. In the 26th minute, Baba intercepted the ball in the opponent's half. He quickly launched a counter attack and passed it to Lucas. However, his decisive shot from the right side of the box hit the opponent's defender and went out for a corner kick. From Baba's corner kick, Inonami from the far side took a shot but missed. In the 36th minute, Omiya connected passes in front of Tokyo's goal and left MF Fujimoto dribbled past Imakawa and took a shot, but Tsuchi made the save.
At 40 minutes, Toda and Baba stuck to the left side and made it to my ball, and Baba made a floating pass to the front line. Ishikawa ran in and directly hit the return from Toda, but the opposing DF blocked it. At 43 minutes, Omiya DF Hato's right cross, central FW Kobayashi Dai headed freely, but it turned to the right. While creating chances, they were unable to score an additional point, but they did not lose concentration in defense and returned to the second half with a 1-point lead.
Omiya defended against the fierce attack and achieved a shutout victory with everyone's concentration, making it two consecutive wins!
In the second half, they went for the second goal, but in the 46th minute, Fujiyama made a mistake and the ball was taken away, and Omiya's right MF Hisanaga took a decisive shot. Although it narrowly missed the frame, in the 50th minute, Shigeki was injured in an accident and went off the pitch. He was replaced by Miura and moved Inoue to the final line, setting up a formation to mark Omiya FW Allison.
Tried to solidify the defense and aim for a counter, but in the 52nd minute, they took the ball in the opponent's territory and Lucas launched a quick attack. The shot from Baba, who picked up the ball from Omiya DF, hit the left post... In the 57th minute, Toda, who had jumped out to the front line, shook the net, but it was offside. While Tokyo was able to connect their attacks by taking the ball from Omiya's defensive line, Omiya also launched counters using long balls. In the 71st minute, when a through pass was sent to Omiya's front line player Kobayashi, Tsuchi flew out but couldn't catch it. The goal was wide open, but Fujiyama held on and defended.
While both teams were exchanging counterattacks, Omiya brought in tall FW Morita in the 77th minute. They launched a fierce attack with a 3-top formation and power play. In response, Tokyo brought in Mashima. Mashima marked FW Morita, Imakawa marked FW Allison, and Inaba marked FW Kobayashi in an attempt to counter. However, the momentum was still with Omiya. In the 82nd minute, a right cross was met by a perfect header from FW Morita at the far post. But Tsuchi was able to stop it with a long jump and push it out with his left hand!
In the final stage, Tokyo was able to connect clear passes and Omiya MF Hashimoto was able to send crosses one after another. Tokyo was unable to push up their DF line and the game was dominated by defensive play. Although there were tense moments, in the end Lucas also returned to defend the goal and they were able to keep a clean sheet until the final whistle! This was their first shutout victory since the opening match against Oita. While they were unable to dominate possession and attack, the fact that they were able to keep a clean sheet with everyone's concentration and Tokyo's characteristic tenacity is worthy of praise. They were able to secure 3 valuable points away and continue their winning streak.
【Player Comments】《Imano》"(I scored) by moving around and trying to get away from the opponent's marking. I was able to score because I became free. After that, I was marked by the opponent's defensive midfielder, so I tried to run to the place where the opponent didn't like and take advantage of the gap. If we defend, we will be beaten, and we wanted to score another goal, but when Mochida was substituted, we dropped back to the defensive line. After that, we only thought about not conceding any goals. I received instructions to mark Allison, and I was nervous at first, but I think I was able to mark him well. We received a fierce attack, but I thought it was okay to let them cross outside. We only had to be careful not to let them break through and shoot in one go. The previous players were also doing their best, and everyone was focused."《Inaba》"In the end, Omiya had three forwards and our three defenders were almost in a man-to-man situation. I was watching FW Kobayashi from the first half, so I was only conscious of not letting him do his job. I think it's a good thing that we ended the game without conceding any goals, but we still have a lot to improve in terms of connecting. We won today, but I don't think we can win against better teams with our current style of play. We want to play better football."
[Summary of Manager Kuramata's Press Conference] "As for the result of 1-0, it was the first time since I took over that we were able to keep a clean sheet, so I think that was good. Omiya creates a defensive block, so we aimed to attack behind it from the start of the first half. We earned a free kick and were able to defend the goal we scored. From the middle of the first half, Omiya was picking up loose balls in the midfield, so we made sure to be aware of that in the second half. We had a solid defense and took a counterattack strategy, but we couldn't get a second goal and in the end we were able to defend against their power play and keep the score at 1-0. We moved Nakanoto to the back line because we were wary of the speed of FW Allison. We thought Omiya would definitely bring in tall FW Morita towards the end, so we were planning to have Masushima mark him."
[Omiya Miura's press conference] "We conceded a goal in the first minute, and it was a very bad start to the game because the cause was a set piece. We have been practicing defense for set pieces for the past week, so the players were disappointed and the first 15 minutes were very poor. After that, we were able to recover to some extent and create chances while playing the game. However, it was difficult for us to stick to our "4-4-2 formation and defend well, and then attack" strategy. I thought the second half would be more in our favor, but if we forget about the goal we conceded and don't play our own way, Tokyo will start defending and playing on the counter. If we concede a second goal, it will become even more difficult, so we had to be careful about that and continue playing the game. I think we had plenty of chances, but we couldn't convert them, or you could say that Tokyo defended well. Tokyo took the lead and the game turned into a situation where players like Ishikawa and Lucas were able to run on the counter, which is Tokyo's best style. It's true that the game didn't go as we had hoped. However, looking at the flow of the game today, there were chances and I thought it was a game where we could score and turn things around."
