[Player and Coach Comments]
The 2016 Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J3 League Sec. 3 match is against Blaublitz Akita away.
In the starting lineup of FC Tokyo U-23, which is on a losing streak, four players, Enomoto, Yoshimoto, Komano, and Kajiyama, are participating in the over-age slots.
In the front line, we will deploy Yukino and Nakajima as in the previous match, challenging with a 4-4-2 formation.
The opponent, Blaublitz Akita, has drawn 2 matches in a row, earning 2 points.
As this match is the home opener, the Vice Governor of Akita Prefecture and many officials are in attendance, aiming for the first victory of the season.
The match started with a kickoff from Blaublitz Akita in unstable weather with intermittent rain.
[First Half]
In the early stages, it was Akita who actively pushed the game forward.
Akita connects passes from the DF line, including the GK, and looks for opportunities.
Tokyo approaches the balls coming into the midfield and does not allow them to advance easily.
The first chance was created by Akita. In the 8th minute, they lost the ball on the right side of their own half and were dribbled past into the center.
The first shot is saved by Enomoto, but the ball that spills to the far side is shot again, and Okazaki blocks it with his body on the goal line.
Do not allow the opponent to score.
However, in the 14th minute, after being countered and dribbled through the center of our own territory, we allowed a middle shot to be taken when our approach momentarily slowed, conceding the first goal.
Tokyo, having allowed the lead, immediately counterattacks. Komano breaks deep down the left side and delivers a low ground cross.
Insoo YU attempts to connect with this, but it goes over the goal.
Gradually starting to retain possession, Tokyo made a vertical pass from the DF line to Insoo YU in the 24th minute, connecting to Nakajima.
While Yanagi is competing with the opposing DF during this vertical pass, Nakajima makes a run behind the opposing DF line with a through pass.
Yanagi delivers a low cross from the sideline to the near side. Here, Hiraoka jumps in but is deflected by the opposing defender.
Furthermore, Tokyo intensified their attack and in the 37th minute, from a throw-in deep on the left side, Nakajima cut inside and took a shot with his right foot, but it went straight to the goalkeeper.
Tokyo had started to create chances, but in the 42nd minute, Komano was injured due to contact with an opposing player. Suzuki was brought on, and Nozawa was positioned on the left side.
Then, in stoppage time, they were completely bypassed on the left side, allowing a shot from a tight angle, but Enomoto made a save with his foot.
No additional goals allowed, ending the first half at 0-1.
【Halftime】
Coach Anma's Comments
"Defense is about picking up loose balls. Let's take control in both offense and defense, and continue to challenge for the remaining 45 minutes."
【Second Half】
Both teams entered the second half without any player substitutions during halftime.
Akita created the first chance in the second half as well.
In the 48th minute, although a decisive shot was allowed after being broken through on the right side, Enomoto deflected it with one hand.
Tokyo, with Enomoto's excellent saves, does not allow any additional goals and gradually takes control of the match, connecting passes from the DF line and looking for opportunities.
Akita is also solidly forming a block in their own territory and looking for chances from counterattacks.
Among them, Nakajima receives the ball on the left side, while Nozawa repeatedly makes runs to overtake him, trying to find a breakthrough.
In the 56th minute, Nakajima created a play on the left side, with multiple players connecting and intricately passing as they moved inside.
In the end, Suzuki takes a long-range shot, but it is blocked by the opposing DF.
Tokyo substituted Sasaki for Kajiyama in the 72nd minute. This marks Sasaki's first appearance in the J-League since turning professional.
Then, Sasaki showed an aggressive play.
In the 83rd minute, Okazaki made a long pass to Insoo YU from the central left side of his own half, which he headed down to Sho SASAKI.
Sasaki aims for a long shot, but it is saved by the GK.
After that, Tokyo continued to attack with Nakajima and Nozawa on the left side, and Yukino and Yanagi boldly advancing on the right side, while Matsuoka aimed for the goal through a central breakthrough, fighting without giving up until the end of the match.
We lost 0-1, marking our third consecutive defeat.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-23 today.
We appreciate your continued warm support.
【Summary of Coach Anma's Press Conference】
"Regarding our attack, we entered the match saying we would try to challenge the opponent's final line. After containing Akita's momentum, we were able to launch our attacks, but I want players to emerge who have the determination to finish the last part, whether it's the final pass or the ball behind the defensive line. In terms of defense, we have made significant progress since Sec. 1, but there have been moments where we lost the ball again after winning it, making unnecessary mistakes and getting bypassed in situations where we didn't need to force it. We still need to gain more experience. I have conveyed that I want them to continue trying, so I hope to see changes in the players. There are fans and supporters who have come all the way to Tohoku despite the poor conditions, so I want to show them a winning performance. I will continue to work on this."
【Player Comments】
《Nozawa》
"I didn't want to give up the first goal. When we conceded the first goal, it was quite difficult as the opponent gained momentum, and we couldn't establish our own rhythm. As time went on, we had more possession and created chances, but we still lacked the ability to finish. Once we concede the first goal, the game becomes tough, so I want to keep that in mind as we play. (Although I changed positions midway) it was an unfamiliar position, but I had practiced it before, so I had a certain image of positioning and how to place the ball. I focused on entrusting the ball to the player in front of me and was able to make several runs after passing it, but it didn't lead to a goal, which is a challenge. I want to become a player who can perform at a high level in any position. (Looking ahead to the next match) Next is at home, and we need to break the streak of three consecutive losses, so I absolutely want to win and aim higher from here."
