[Player and Coach Comments]

The match in Sec. 23 of the 2016 Meiji Yasuda J3 League against Kagoshima United FC will be held at the "Kagoshima Prefectural Kamoike Athletic Stadium" with a view of Sakurajima.

The last match ended in a 0-0 draw at home.
Kagoshima excels at quick short counters from high pressing. FW number 9, Fujimoto, has scored 10 goals in 19 matches, making him the top scorer in the J3 league.
Tokyo was registered as 4-5-1, but when the match started, the formation was 4-4-2.
Enomoto, who will be playing since Sec. 19, is the goalkeeper. The defensive line also features teenage players this match, from the right: Yanagi, Okazaki, Koyama, and Ogawa.
At the bottom of the midfield are Nozawa and Suzuki, with Mizunuma on the right and Hayashi on the left. Up front, Insoo YU and Hiraoka are lined up.
This match was held at the same time as the J1 Gamba Osaka match, but about 75 Tokyo supporters rushed to the stadium to take on this battle.

[First Half]
Tokyo dominated possession of the ball.
Sharp pressing from the start and quick reactions to second balls. The defense actively intercepts repeatedly, not giving Kagoshima any freedom.
In attack, after stealing the opponent's ball, quickly send the ball behind the DF line utilizing the characteristics of Hiraoka and Insoo YU in the front line.
Additionally, during slow attacks, we utilized both sides from the build-up and launched attacks with varying tempo.
In the 3rd minute of the match, Hiraoka broke through behind the opponent's defensive line, and in the following 4th minute, Insoo YU dove in with a header to Mizunuma's early cross, but just missed it.
In the 12th and 15th minutes, there were moments when they stole the ball in the Tokyo territory and created opportunities to approach the goal from a counterattack.
Kagoshima begins to change to a formation where they set up a block in their own territory from a high press, leading to a situation where they are pushed back into their own area.
However, we are not able to get to the shot easily.
Even so, in the 29th minute, Insoo YU won the ball in front of his own penalty area, and Nozawa picked it up. Nozawa evaded the approaching opponent, connected with Mizunuma, and dribbled up the right side.
Here, Yanagi runs outside to support, but Mizunuma uses this as a decoy and cuts inside to take a shot, which goes to the right of the goal.
In the 31st minute, Hayashi, who had the ball in the center of the midfield, made a middle pass to Yanagi, who sprinted along the right sideline.
Using Mizunuma, who entered to support, as a decoy, he made a cutback and delivered a cross with his left foot, but it was cleared by the DF.
Although Kagoshima picked up this loose ball, Yanagi immediately applied pressure and regained possession of the ball.
While continuing to outplay the opponent in switching between offense and defense and in ball contests, they are struggling to break through Kagoshima's defense, and Kagoshima begins to create chances.
In the 34th minute, a shot from slightly right of center was taken, but Enomoto made the save.
In the 38th minute, they were caught off guard on the left side. A cross flowed to the far side in a situation where they were outnumbered in front of the goal, and Yanagi, who rushed back, cleared the ball.
Furthermore, from the flow of the loose ball, a pass was made to the center, allowing a decisive shot from a one-two play that hit the left post directly.
In the 40th minute, Tokyo continues to deliver crosses from both sides, but when they are deflected by the opposing defense, they suffer a counterattack.
Cutting in from a two-on-two situation, the shot controlled with the left foot hit the crossbar.
Although the possession of the ball was long, Tokyo only had one shot in the first half from Mizunuma, while Kagoshima had four shots, ending the first half.

【Halftime】
Coach Nakamura's Comments
"In attack, let's increase the variations by using horizontal and diagonal passes."
In defense, let's manage the risks during the attack properly. Since the opponent's chances often come from counterattacks, stay focused.
And make sure to run until the end. We will definitely win and come back.

【Second Half】
At halftime, Tokyo replaced Hiraoka with Ishikawa. Kobayashi was brought in for Hayashi. Each player took their respective positions.
Kagoshima will take control after substituting one player at halftime.
Kagoshima begins to implement a fierce high press that is coordinated from the start.
Tokyo tries to build up their attack but is unable to move the ball forward and is completely pushed back into their own half.
For about 10 minutes after the start of the second half, the play continued mostly within our own territory, with the defense putting their bodies on the line in front of the penalty area.
In the 55th minute, Insoo YU broke through on the right side and aimed for the goal from a half-bounce, but it went outside the frame.
As time passes, the match settles down a bit, but Kagoshima continues to hold the initiative.
In the 58th minute, after a throw-in deep on the right side, the ball came to the center and the decisive shot went to the left of the goal.
In the 61st minute, Tokyo had a chance when Mizunuma delivered an early cross from the right side to the center, but Insoo YU, who was free, headed the ball over the goal.
As the battle for control in the midfield continues, Okazaki is substituted due to injury in the 70th minute, and Uchida comes on.
Uchida will take the right back position, with Yanagi and Koyama as center backs.
In the 72nd minute, immediately after, a free kick was awarded deep on the right side, and a trick play resulted in a backward pass to the center of the goal, allowing a free shot.
Although pushed back in the scramble from here, they were saved by an offside call.
In the 73rd minute, after returning the ball to Enomoto inside the penalty area, he was pressured by the opposing FW, causing the ball to spill, but Yanagi cleared it.
Tokyo had been holding on by a thread, but in the 76th minute, they lost the ball in the center of the opponent's half, allowing a long pass to be played behind the right side.
If you allow this to break through vertically, a player will jump in free in the center and score.
After that, Tokyo, under intense pressure from Kagoshima, which was united with the match venue, endured as the defense maintained their concentration.
In the final stages, Kagoshima effectively managed the time, and there were few opportunities for a counterattack, leading to the end of the match.
Lost by 0-1.

Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-23.
We appreciate your continued warm support.

【Summary of Coach Nakamura's Press Conference】
"Since supporters have come all the way from Tokyo to Kagoshima, I entered the match with the feeling that we cannot play a game that would be disappointing."
We won the last match, but this time we will play with a different lineup. While having a team concept, each individual will also showcase their own abilities.
I approached the match with the feeling of stepping onto the J1 stage.
In the first half, we aimed to be aggressive from the start and tried to supply the ball in front of the goal, attempting to take control with several early crosses and balls behind the defense.
The start was not bad, but after that there were many simple attacks and mistakes, and we couldn't create our own time.
In the second half, we talked about substituting players to increase possession rate and aimed to attack while moving the ball.
The players were aware, but it didn't go according to plan, and we ended up conceding a goal first.
I wanted to show a bit more effort to score in the end, but considering today's conditions, my legs stopped, and we ended up losing 0-1.

【Player Comments】
《Yanagi》
"In the last match, we won against Akita and we wanted to continue our winning streak this match to build momentum, but it's unfortunate that we couldn't achieve that."
(What did you keep in mind as you approached the match?) I wanted to actively overlap from the beginning of the first half and create chances by putting in crosses.
We were able to do that to some extent, but in the second half, we spent a lot of time being attacked, and we were being pressured due to our own mistakes.
We had to maintain our concentration from the start of the second half.
(After Okazaki was substituted, the position changed) The coach told us to keep it at zero. In that situation, we conceded a counter due to our own mistakes, and I think we started to show some gaps towards the end of the second half.
Although I was told to keep it at zero, not being able to do so is the responsibility of the center-back as well as my own responsibility.
I want to maintain my concentration until the end and be able to defend effectively.
(What are your thoughts on the next match?) I have started to show my play little by little, so I want to continue to express my play and be proactive from now on.
