[Player/Coach Comments]
The 2016 Meiji Yasuda Life J3 League, which started in March, will reach Sec. 24.
14th place with 5 wins, 7 draws, and 11 losses, for a total of 22 points.
This week's opponent, Y.S.C.C. Yokohama, is in 16th place with 4 wins, 4 draws, and 15 losses, totaling 16 points.
In the previous match, we dominated the game but couldn't score and lost 0-1 from a counter attack and a penalty kick.
Tokyo's starting eleven, who do not want to lose to the same opponent as their losing streak in the league, have GK Terry in goal.
The DF line consists of YANAGI, RENKAWA, OKAZAKI, and OGAWA from the right, with 10 young players lined up this week as well.
MF consists of Nozawa and Suzuki in the defensive midfield position, with Mizunuma, Ikichi, and Kobayashi lined up in the second row from right to left, and Insoo YU in the front line.
YS Yokohama lines up in the same 4-5-1 formation as Tokyo, with FC Tokyo Academy graduate Moriyama standing in goal.
The temperature rose up to 31.9℃ and the strong sunlight started at the kickoff of YS Yokohama.
[First Half]
Both teams showed a quiet start.
As time goes by, Tokyo kept pushing the ball into the YS Yokohama's territory, but they were unable to score.
YS Yokohama uses the space inside the Tokyo team's defense simply, and launches attacks with counters and short counters.
Tokyo's first chance came at 3 minutes, with YANAGI breaking through the right side and crossing to GRANDER near the goal. Insoo YU jumped in, but the DF blocked it.
In the following 4 minutes, Insoo YU takes a shot from a chance created by Namae, but the GK punches it away.
At 7 minutes, when the ball is held in the center, Insoo YU runs behind.
When connecting this to Mizunuma on the right side as a decoy, the cross to Insoo YU on the far side is met, but the header shot is blocked.
Kobayashi jumps for a volley on this loose ball, but it hits the post and is caught by the GK's arms.
Afterwards, we continue to possess the ball, but we are unable to make effective vertical passes and cannot break down the opponent's defense.
YS Yokohama changed their system to 4-1-4-1 around the 10-minute mark, leaving one FW and forming a block in their own half.
Despite launching counters from there, the Tokyo defense does not give the opponent a chance due to their aggressive interceptions and quick transitions between offense and defense.
Tokyo continues to try to break through the opposing defense, but time passes without being able to score.
30 minutes, Insoo YU, who received the ball on the right side, jumped into the free goal and headed it, but couldn't meet it.
Tokyo had 8 shots in the first half but failed to score, and the first half ended in a scoreless tie.
【Halftime】
Manager Nakamura's Comment
"We're being aggressive."
Multiply the number of players against crosses. Also be aware of reactions to loose balls.
Manage the risk during attack in defense.
Let's continue to work hard together.
【Second Half】
The second half started with Tokyo's kickoff. Tokyo replaced Ogawa with Okanote and placed Yanagi on the left side and Okanote on the right side as a right SB.
Yokohama YS took an aggressive approach at the start, but around the 50-minute mark, Tokyo regained their composure and began to dominate with strong defense.
Among them, Okanote and Mizunuma on the right side have begun to actively grasp the attacking rhythm.
As a result, they score the opening goal with an attack from the right side.
63 minutes, Okanohashi on the right side sends a vertical pass to Insoo YU and connects it to Mizunuma with a direct pass, and Mizunuma puts in a sharp cross.
He picks up the soft cross to Insoo YU in the center and scores the opening goal with a header as the fabric flows to the left side.
Furthermore, in the 68th minute, as Tokyo gains momentum, YU Insoo receives the ball in the center of the midfield and lifts his head up, sending a long pass to YU Insoo who has made a run behind the opponent's defensive line.
Insoo YU calmly finishes a one-on-one with the GK from a dribble, making it 2-0.
Tokyo, which continued to strengthen its attack centered on the right side, connected to Suzuki, who was free on the far side, in the 69th minute, and he unleashed a powerful left-footed shot, but it hit the left side of the frame.
In the 74th minute, Okaniwa broke free on the right side and dribbled into the back of the net, surprising everyone with a shot aimed at the near post but missed the target.
79 minutes, the cross from Mizunuma who received the ball on the right side from Nakazawa in the center is deflected once, but Mizunuma picks up the loose ball again and makes a one-on-one vertical attack.
Unable to score despite winning this one-on-one and crossing.
In the 84th minute, Yagi intercepted the ball in the center of their own half and passed it to the right side to Yui.
Dribble this from the side and connect it to Hirayama, who entered from the left side.
Hiraoka cuts in and takes a shot, but it is blocked by the DF.
Despite not being able to score a third goal, the Tokyo defense remained focused and the game ended without losing concentration.
Won their 6th victory with a score of 2-0.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-23.
Thank you for your continued warm support.
【Summary and Comments from Manager Nakamura's Press Conference】
"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to all the supporters who came to the home game."
And I think it was great that we were able to share the victory of 2-0 together.
We approached the game with the mindset that we couldn't afford to lose to each other, as we were both ranked lower.
In the previous match, we were disappointed with our performance, so we decided to start over from the basics and focus on the game, starting from our training.
I think the players were very conscious of the basics such as ball control and switching compared to the previous match, so we were able to take the lead.
However, we were unable to score easily, so we focused on increasing the number of people entering the cross and the awareness of diving, as well as coming up with ideas for the goal. We also tried to improve our awareness and quality, not just from the outside, but also through combinations.
I think this result was born because they had the consciousness to go into the goal until the end in the hot weather.
However, I told the players that J3 will have a two-week break from now on, so we need to unite as a team and focus on the Levain Cup. I also mentioned that a few members of this team will be on the bench, so let's switch gears and do our best starting tomorrow."
[Player Comments]
"Yanagi"
"In the first half, the pace was slow and I also had a few crosses, but the quality was poor and we couldn't create a flow for the team."
In the second half, we actively aimed for shots and goals, and I think it was good that we were able to leave the result of an assist.
(In the second half, the members and positions changed, but?) I think we were able to defend firmly and concentrate without particularly being aware of which player was on the field and without changing our own play.
(What about the assist?) When I had the ball and looked up, I made eye contact with Insoo YU and he signaled with his hand, "I want it here." I think I was able to send the pass exactly where he wanted it.
(FC Tokyo's starting lineup was 20 years old, but) the final line was me at the top (in the second half). I fought with the consciousness of not letting myself break the last goal by calling out to myself.
I think that if I focus on getting visible results in the game, such as my own assists today, and scoring or assisting in the next game and the game after that, I can continue to strive for those results.
