[Player and Coach Comments]
《Sotan TANABE》
"Since we were down by 2 points, I thought, 'We have nothing to lose. Let's give it our all on the pitch.'"
I am good at "dodging" the opponent's press.
Today, as a team, we got caught in Kashiwa's press and were unable to get the ball into the front line in a good way.
Therefore, I was thinking of breaking through in the midfield and supplying passes to the front line.
If I can get past one opponent, the mark from Kashiwa will also shift, and I can move the DF as well.
(There were good passes to Yoshito OKUBO, weren't there?)
"There were parts where we could do that, and parts where we fell short."
Today, throughout the match, we were unable to fight in the earlier stages rather than focusing on the issues of accuracy and quality in the last play.
I think we couldn't build up from the back or create our own game.
The goal did not lead to any points...
If we could have decided a little earlier, the team might have had one more chance.
However, personally, it leads to confidence and motivation.
There is a week until the next match, but I want to do my best to prepare well without getting discouraged while facing the challenges.
《Hiroki KAWANO》
"In the first half, we had several chances, but as a team, we haven't been able to create a clear shape that says 'this is it.'
Today, it seems that the intentions of the 'front' and 'back' do not align... I feel like they were a bit scattered.
Ryoichi and Yoshito are running that much in defense as well.
I believe there should be times when we connect passes and adopt an aggressive style of play.
"In the next week, I want everyone to share their opinions so that we can discuss and move the team forward."
《Summary of Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA's Press Conference》
"It is frustrating to lose like this in front of many fans and supporters at home. The entire team, including the defensive line, played defensively against the pressure from Kashiwa's front line."
I think we were pressured by the opponent when we pulled the ball back, which led to a long ball to Maeda. We should have prepared to receive the ball a bit earlier. I communicated that to the players, but I feel like it was more of a mental heaviness than a physical one.
The goals conceded early in the second half led to an open game. It became a match where conceding the third and fourth goals wouldn't have been surprising, but thanks to the opponent's mistakes, we managed to hold on without conceding, which was a great effort from Hayashi and the team.
However, I think that not being able to score in the first half lowered the team's morale. We brought in Utaka to create a space to hold the ball, but we lacked precision in the end. We have to accept today's loss, and there's no point in looking down, so I want to prepare for the next match.
《Q&A》
(What were the factors that led to completely losing the pace to the opponent after conceding a goal in the second half?)
"I think there are various reasons, but one is that the timing of our approach became misaligned. The forwards pressed, but the players in the back couldn't follow. The reason is that we needed to press while neutralizing the defensive midfielder, and I think the forwards were unable to press the opponent's center-backs."
(Today, it seemed that the players were constantly under pressure from the opponent while playing, didn't it?)
"When a pass is made from the CB to the SB, in situations where the opposing player approaches, they end up passing back to the CB without facing forward. This leads to the opposing forward pressing again, resulting in losing the ball or having to pass back to the GK, which happened far too often.
I think it was more about not thinking ahead during the preparation stage to receive the ball, and the fact that the defensive midfielder did not create a situation to support alongside. That is a team issue. I wonder if their pressure was felt due to playing in a backward manner.
《Kashiwa - Takahiro SHIMOTAIRA's Press Conference Summary》
"We talked to the players about absolutely winning against FC Tokyo, who are one rank above us, before entering the match."
Leading 2-0, the inability to score additional points was a factor that caused us to be flustered at the end. I strongly felt that unless we become a strong team that can firmly secure the third and fourth goals to finish the game, we won't be able to aim higher.
However, I was able to proceed according to the game plan, and I think we were able to play a style of soccer that controls the core structure of FC Tokyo, so I am satisfied. The opponent kicked long balls, and thanks to the players' consistent reactions to the second balls for the full 90 minutes, we were able to achieve this result, so I am grateful to the players.
《Q&A》
(What were your thoughts on the approach after the 20th minute of the second half?)
"FC Tokyo has strengthened their attacking power, so we wanted to firmly respond to that and create chances on the counter. We were able to create chances, but I wanted us to convert those chances."
(Do you feel the growth of young players by being able to win against higher-ranked teams?)
"I think we have been growing through various experiences. However, today, as a team, we were able to respond well to the individual abilities of FC Tokyo. I believe that was good today, regardless of whether they are young or veteran players."
