[Player/Coach Comments]
"Yohei KAJIYAMA"
Q=About today's match
"In the first half, we were also having fun playing and I think it was good. As for the goal we conceded in stoppage time of the first half, we should have closed it out at that time and we conceded due to a lapse in concentration. That needs to be fixed, but overall our defense is stable and if we can continue to play in the same way as the first half for the full 90 minutes, I believe both our performance and results will follow."
Q=What did you focus on in today's play?
"Yone was handling the ball behind me, so I tried to play close to Ryoichi and Takuma, who could also move the ball forward. The distance between us was good and we were able to pass the ball well. My challenge is whether I can get into another position from there. However, I think I could have received the ball more often in between, so I need to demand more from myself. If I can do that, I think it will improve the team's rhythm."
"Ryoya OGAWA"
Q=Looking back on today's match
"We wanted to win this match and advance to the top of the group stage, but unfortunately we lost. However, we have another match against Shimizu this weekend, so we will switch gears and focus on training to do our best."
What was your impression of scoring your first goal in the J1 official match?
"I didn't aim directly, but rather went for a pass. However, I kicked the ball with the intention of it going into the goal even if no one touched it."
When was it decided?
"I was honestly happy. I think we were able to bring a good flow to the team by scoring a goal with a set play in the midst of a stalemate."
"Press Conference Summary by Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA"
"As a result, it is very disappointing that we could not win and achieve our goal. There was a long period of chaos after taking the lead, and although we were not aiming for a draw, there was a time when we stopped. I feel that the way we conceded the goal was bad. Being caught up during the time we stopped made today's game even more difficult. We have not been eliminated from the Levain Cup yet, but in order to win the Levain Cup, we have to win the playoffs, so we want to take a closer look at that. Also, we have a league game in this place again in 3 days, so we want to prepare together to repay today's debt."
"Q&A"
Q=Please tell us in detail why there was a time period when the game was stopped.
"One of the reasons was that the distance to approach the opponent became a little far, and that caused a slight gap. Against the opponent's player who came to take the middle position, it was not clear who would press at what timing, and we were one tempo late, and then the second and third players entered and we conceded. We have to play the game a little smarter, and since we were leading 1-0, I think it would have been best to end that time without conceding. It's not embarrassing to clear the ball, and if we can cut off that time with a big clearance, I think the first half would have ended, so I want to reexamine those aspects."
Q=What was the purpose of bringing in players Nagai and Peter UTAKA in the second half?
"Nagai (Kensuke) came in when the score was tied 1-1, and I told him to take advantage of the opponent's back. We wanted him to press from a higher position, and Maeda Ryoichi was also doing it, but we asked Nagai to make movements that would bring the opponent down a little more. After we conceded a goal, we put in Utaka to score, but there was also time for him to drop back and receive the ball. However, we were able to execute a scene where we entered the penalty area with a combination, which we have been practicing. Now, we want to increase the number of scenes where we either take a shot to score or pass to someone else and then take a shot. Also, Tokunaga Yuhei delivered many good crosses from the side, but we were not able to connect in the middle. We need to train more to make sure we can score from those situations."
"Summary of Shimizu Manager Shinji Kobayashi's Press Conference"
"It was good that they didn't give up after conceding a goal. I think FC Tokyo may have relaxed a little after taking the lead, and we had two chances to score. It was good that we were able to consistently focus on attacking from behind. And I think they did a good job of maintaining a defensive mindset until the end and pushing forward.
I'm relieved that we were finally able to get 3 points at home. We talked about going for the first goal, but it was good that we were able to defend well. I think we played a really tight game today. There were a lot of players making runs behind the defense, which may have caused them to panic. In that situation, if we can start making more vertical passes, I think we can play even more exciting soccer."
"Q&A"
Q=How do you interpret today's win in preparation for the next league match?
"We have been on a losing streak, losing during the week and on weekends. This time, we changed the lineup a bit and even though we only had 3 days in between games, we focused on playing and adjusting our condition for the league match. I think the players who played did a great job and we are all happy to see such a positive result. This will be a great boost for us, both mentally and physically. We have gained points against top teams, but we have lost to mid-table teams, so we need to work on coordinating our offense and defense, and focus on both defending and scoring goals. We want to prepare well for the next match."
Q=How is the condition of player Daesei Jeong, who was substituted due to injury?
"I heard about the fact that I was injured and that I was able to speak when I got on the ambulance. However, that's all I know for now."
