[Player and Coach Comments]
《Yoshito OKUBO》
"...I didn't score. It's my fault today."
I apologize to all the fans and supporters.
But this is FW. There are days like this.
Until now, I have missed many and scored many.
I want to reflect on today and score points to help the team win next time.
We have no choice but to switch gears and keep moving forward.
(What about the scene where the pass came from Utaka?)
There was an opponent's defender in front, and the ground was slippery, so I couldn't match it well.
That must be reflected upon.
Above all, there were more opportunities than before.
It was all about counterattacks, but if we could score there, it would boost our confidence as a team. All I can think about is how I should have scored...
(About the combination with Utaka)
Utaka can keep the ball and has good awareness of his surroundings.
I think there is no problem.
(How to score a goal other than through a counter?)
Even when being pressed by the opponent in midfield, if you can switch to the opposite side, it can create a big opportunity... this has happened many times. A single pass can completely change the picture.
While it is also a personal issue, I believe that if we can do that, we will be able to see how we want to fight as a team. We should be able to improve further.
《Yojiro TAKAHAGI》
"I am sorry and disappointed about the loss, but I believe there were new gains after the break."
One aspect is the offensive side. I myself have been receiving the ball between the opponents and increasing the number of vertical passes to the front line.
Another aspect is the defense. I think there were few situations where we were flustered not only when trying to win the ball back but also when we couldn't do that.
The ability to play a calm game is an improvement for the team.
(Although Yokohama FM was solid in the center, what about the role of switching on the attack?)
Vertical passes have started to be able to be made.
As a challenge, if we could receive a return after putting it in and then use the outside from there, the sides should have opened up.
It would be great if we could break through the center, but when that’s not possible, we need to spread out to the sides. The accuracy of that is also a challenge for me. I want to improve in that area.
(There were moments when the pass got intercepted during the counter, but?)
That is the pass of the 'Challenge'. If we can get it through there, it will become 'decisive'. The accuracy is my own issue.
(How did you feel about the attacking movements around you during the counter? It seemed like you were attacking with a similar speed and timing, right?)
I want to coordinate a bit more with the others on whether to pass at an earlier timing or to draw in the opposing defenders before passing...
(When we have the ball, it's often the case that passes don't go to the two forwards?)
There may be parts where we are not fully utilizing the abilities of the players in front of us, and as a team, we may not be making the most of them.
However, if the game unfolds like today, there will be periods of back and forth, resulting in counterattacks. It is also true that chances were created in those moments.
I believed that it was also my job to delay the opponent's counter and pick up the second ball.
If we continue playing this kind of football, it will be necessary to score on the counter.
I believe that by increasing that number, we can also increase our goals.
《Summary of Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA's Press Conference》
"The result of 0-1 is very frustrating. However, this result is something we brought upon ourselves, so we want to accept it firmly as a team and work on it. Losing in front of our home fans and supporters is very damaging, but we can only move forward, so we want to continue to push on."
When fighting against Marinos, it often becomes a test of patience. The goals conceded are often due to our own mistakes. We lost the ball after a throw-in by passing it back, which led to a goal against us. At that moment, we should have focused on moving the ball forward.
There were several scenes where the opponent fell back and we tried to break through their block, but the fact that we ultimately couldn't break through the goal indicates that there is still something lacking.
There were good aspects in the attacking part, but today the goal felt far away.
The Emperor's Cup is coming up again soon, and since we can play at Ajinomoto Stadium, we want to do our best to show our victory in front of our fans and supporters.
《Q&A》
Q=What were the successful points of the attack?
When we pushed the opponent back, we were able to attack from the side through Utaka, and we created scenes that led to a shot by involving one more player.
It’s true for Shoya, Keigo, and Yoshito as well, that while they receive the ball and carry it forward, there seems to be just one more step needed to go further. However, they were able to show what they have been working on in training. If we can't score goals, it means nothing, but I want to continue working on that.
Marinos is a team with a solid defense and excels at counterattacks, but I think one reason for today's defeat is that we lost in the battle of patience.
《Yokohama FM - Erick MOMBAERTS' Press Conference Summary》
"We wanted to firmly possess and control the ball. Especially in the second half, we were able to do that. I think it was logical that we were able to connect it to the goal."
Q=What are the defensive strategies and instructions for the second half?
I didn't give any specific instructions regarding defense or offense.
To have good defense, it is necessary to tighten the middle, and this is something we consciously practice regularly.
Tokyo particularly speeds up from vertical passes inside, so this was especially important today.
Attacking with speed from the sides is one of our key attacking points and is important, so this is something we train regularly. Additionally, we want to further improve the quality of this attack in every single match.
