[Player and Coach Comments]
《Shoya NAKAJIMA》
(The result was a tough 0-2.)
"We need to reflect on today's match properly and prepare for the next game, and I want to look at the match footage to identify areas for improvement."
(In the attack, Nakajima showed scenes of actively taking on opponents with dribbling.)
"When the opponent closed in, I was able to pass to my teammates and play flexibly. However, I wish I could have played faster, and I thought I could have performed better, so I feel regret about that."
(There is a Levain Cup match in two days. What should the team do now?)
"As an attacking player, it is very embarrassing and unacceptable to not score a single goal in 90 minutes. That is something we absolutely must improve, and I believe we can make that improvement next time."
《Peter UTAKA》
(There were many chances, but we couldn't score)
"I think the issue in today's match and the previous league match was that we couldn't score. We were able to create many chances, but in soccer, scoring is everything, so in that regard, the opponent was better today."
(Did Yu OKUBO's substitution increase the attacking role?)
"First of all, the presence of Yu OKUBO is extremely significant for FC Tokyo. Unfortunately, he had to be substituted today, which forced us to change our approach. However, the player who came on, Nagai, gave it his all, and I believe what we truly lacked today was just a goal."
Summary of Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA's Press Conference
"Our fans and supporters came all the way here in the rain, and I feel very regretful and disappointed that we couldn't deliver a good result. I think conceding a goal early on increased Jubilo's momentum, and not being able to score from there affected us later on. I reflect on how there were clear moments where we could defend against counterattacks and moments where we couldn't, such as with Adailton's crosses. Moving forward, I believe it's important to figure out how to face soccer with confidence alongside the players. I want the entire team to prepare for the next match together."
《Q&A》
Q=How is Yoshito OKUBO's injury?
"I caught my foot on the grass and twisted it, so the pain is quite strong. I won't know for sure until I get it checked, but it may take some time to heal."
《Press Conference Summary of Hiroshi NANAMI, Coach of Jubilo Iwata》
"The opening goal in the 11th minute was a scene where the strong points of the players inside were showcased, coming from a very good buildup and breakdown. It was a good start. However, until halftime and up until Adailton hit the bar with a shot at the beginning of the second half, it was a very tough period. We were exploited on the flanks and particularly in vertical passes, where (Peter) UTAKA created opportunities, leading to several dangerous situations. The fact that we fell back at that moment is something to reflect on, but conversely, being able to defend tenaciously there was a key to our victory. With Yu OKUBO injured and out, we couldn't fully manage the dynamism of Nagai, which might have been a reason for our disadvantage during that period. Additionally, scoring the second goal allowed us to create time on the sides and with (Shunsuke) Nakamura, leading to ideas for both the receiver and the passer, and changing the distance of the ball, which emerged during that time, allowing us to watch without stress. In the last six matches, I said it was a thorny path, but finishing with three wins, two losses, and one draw was everything. In any case, the players have sufficiently understood their daily conduct and reflections, and have communicated a lot within the mutual relationship, with the desire to show a good game to the home supporters overlapping, which I think has led to very good games continuing. I think it’s okay to be greedy and aim for four or five consecutive wins without stopping here."
《Q&A》
Q=Please evaluate player Kawabe, who had 2 assists.
"In terms of the drive and ideas to push forward in attack, as well as precision, I think we have improved by two or three levels compared to last season. Today, the national team's head coach happened to be here, so I had a brief conversation before the match, and I think it might be okay for him to go (to the national team)."
