[Player/Coach Comments]
"Shoya NAKAJIMA player"
(It ended in a 0-1 score. Please share your thoughts on the game.)
"Although my playing time was short, it's expected for a substitute player. I wish I could have scored that shot, but I will accept it and aim to perform well in Portugal."
(What comes to mind when you look back on playing in Tokyo?)
"Playing in Tokyo allowed me to play with players who represent Japan, and it was a great memory to be surrounded by amazing teammates and staff, and to be able to play soccer every day."
(Message to fans and supporters)
"Thank you for always supporting us, it means a lot to us players. I hope you will continue to believe in us and support us no matter what happens."
"Takahiro YANAGI player"
(It was my debut match in the J1 League)
"After experiencing the Levain Cup, I think I was able to play a little more calmly compared to that time, but it was a difficult match for me. From the beginning of the match, my body felt a little different from usual, and at first it felt stiff. As the match went on, I got used to the game and was able to gradually show my play, but I still felt that I was not good enough in defense. Compared to J3, the quality of the opponent's attack is very high, and there were many scenes where I was beaten, so I want to be more conscious of it in future practices and be able to respond to any opponent."
(The first play was able to take the cross from the chest trap)
"It was big that I was able to play in that way, receiving the ball in front and ultimately being cut off. It was my role to run and receive the ball in front, and I think it was big that I was able to do that first."
(Was there some tension when it came to your J1 debut?)
"Yes, there was. It was a match in the league that I had been aiming for, so I had strong feelings and was a little nervous."
(The player who matched up was Saito Gaku, but was it tough?)
"He's one of the top players in the J-League, so it was exciting to match up against him. But I was beaten multiple times. He's a really scary player because he attacks every time he has the ball, but I think it's a big experience. Next time we play, I want to play with the mindset of stopping him completely, not letting him play as easily as he did today."
"Press Conference Summary by Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA"
"Although it turned out as expected, it's regrettable that Marinos won in the end and made the supporters disappointed. I am very reflective about it. The game was about how to break down the solid Marinos, the approach to defense, and the ability to slide. We had chances, but what we lack now is the ability to endure and not concede, and to score one goal and win. It's easy to say, but I really feel that's where we are lacking. There were also many good parts, but it's also a turning point in the game whether we can finish it there or not, and whether we can endure and bring it to our own pace. I think there are many games like this in this season. Also, there is the Levain Cup in three days, so I want to do it together with the players, how we can approach it and what kind of attitude we can show."
"Q&A"
Q=Is it safe to say that it will be a close game with a score of 0-0 or 1-1 as expected?
"Well, when we play against Marinos, it's always a close game. They have a strong defense, so we focused on how to break through and not concede any goals on the counterattack during this week's training. In that aspect, things went as expected. Marinos' build-up play involves their midfielder Kida dropping back, their fullbacks pushing up, and Saito and Martinos moving inside. Tokyo did a good job of handling this and didn't get flustered. However, we couldn't score. Of course, things don't always go perfectly, but the game played out as we anticipated. Marinos are a top team, and it made us realize where we need to improve."
Q=We received sharp counters from Marinos many times in the second half, but how should we stop them?
"At the moment when the cross was put in, we were replaced, and at the kick-off, Yanagi was passed by Saito and we lost a corner kick, but during that time we were pushed back. We talked about making a strong start, but Ogawa and Yanagi were both aggressive. Also, at the defensive part of the cross, we became ball watchers, and it's true that we were late in that situation, so we gave up two scoring opportunities. On the other hand, we also created two scoring opportunities in the first half, but whether we could finish them or not would change the flow of the game. In the 10 minutes after the second half, we were pushed back and it's true that our physical strength didn't increase. We are very reflective."
"Although Nakajima is leaving the team today, we really wanted to send him off in a good way. The players and staff are all praying for his future success. Please continue to support him. Thank you very much."
"Yokohama FM - Erick MOMBAERTS Manager's Press Conference Summary"
"In the first half, we were not able to control the game well enough. We lost the ball too quickly. However, we were able to defend without allowing the opponent to score."
It's the part where we switch to our defense, but this is always a place where we can make good plays, so today, that switch wasn't working well in the first half. And we gave FC Tokyo a few chances on the counter. However, the players were able to make adjustments and enter the second half. I think we were able to show that mental strength.
In the second half, we were able to control the game more than in the first half. We had more time to play in the opponent's territory and were able to earn many corner kicks. We also created several good chances, but were unable to score.
The remaining task was to bring about a change in the situation through player substitutions. We were able to make that change because we had planned for it. I think Viera's goal was fantastic. However, this goal was born from the great movement of Senbara before it.
In order to continue the current battle for the top spot, we have not lost in 14 games, but I think it is important to continue this momentum. In order to continue this fight against the top teams in the J-League, mental strength is necessary. I would like to commend the players who have shown this part. I also want to express my gratitude to the fans and supporters who are supporting the players.
"Q&A"
Q=I think Yokohama F.Marinos currently has the best defense and the least number of goals conceded in the J.League. In that regard, do you think Soumaru and Kida, who play in the midfield, are doing a great job?
"Regarding the defense of this duo, first of all, they both have a lot of energy, so they contribute to the team there. And they also play a role in balancing the transition and switching."
Q=What is the shape of Yokohama F.Marinos' chances? They have a lot of counterattacks, but what about that point?
"Certainly, there were chances created on the counter today. One of the reasons for that was because FC Tokyo had a 5-3-2 defensive block, making it very difficult to break through with slow attacks. Even so, our left side was functioning to some extent, but our right side was not functioning well enough today."
"We needed to make the speed of ball movement faster today. However, the second half was better than the first half. But we need to continue to improve for the future."
Q=In the first half, it seemed that the transition to defense was not going well, but what was the reason for the part where Kida and Ogihara were unable to press effectively?
"We will need to analyze and confirm with videos from now on, but from what I am feeling right now, I think it's because we weren't able to play aggressively in the zone where we lost the ball. That's where we gave the opponent speed and got caught."
