[Player and Coach Comments]

Shoya NAKAJIMA
(It became 0-1. Please share your thoughts on the game)
"The time I played was short, but that's normal for a substitute. I wish I could have scored that shot during my time on the field, but I accept that and want to succeed in Portugal."

(What comes to mind when you reflect on playing in Tokyo?)
"I have great memories of being able to play with the Japan national team players, surrounded by wonderful teammates and amazing staff, and playing soccer every day."

(Message to fans and supporters)
"You always support us greatly, no matter the circumstances, and that gives strength to the players. I hope you continue to believe in the players and support us from now on."

Takahiro YANAGI
(It was my J1 league debut)
"Having experienced the Levain Cup, I think I was able to play a bit more calmly compared to that time, but it was a difficult match for me. From the start of the match, my body felt a bit different than usual, and I felt stiff at first. As the match progressed, I got used to it and was able to show my play little by little, but I still felt that I needed to improve in defense. Compared to J3, the quality of the opponent's attacks was very high, and there were many moments where I was caught off guard, so I want to be more aware of that in future practices and be able to respond to any opponent."

(The first play was able to flow from a chest trap to a cross)
"In that initial situation, I received the ball up front, and although it ended up being cut off, it was significant that I was able to create that kind of play. Running and receiving the ball up front was the role I was expected to fulfill, and I think it was important that I was able to do that from the start."

(Were you a bit nervous about your J1 debut?)
"Yes, that's right. Since it was a match in the league that I have always aimed for, I had strong feelings about it, so I was a little nervous."

(The player I matched up against was Gaku Saito, but wasn't it tough?)
"He is one of the top-level players in the J-League, so I was looking forward to matching up against someone like him. However, I ended up getting beaten multiple times. He is a really scary player because he attacks every time he has the ball, but I think it was a valuable experience. Next time we face each other, I want to approach it with the mindset of not letting him do what he wants as easily as today, and to stop him completely."

《Summary of Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA's Press Conference》
"As expected, it turned out as I thought, but in the end, Marinos won, which left the supporters feeling disappointed, and I deeply regret that. The question is how to break down the solid Marinos and the approach to defense, or the sliding, which I think we did very well. We had chances, but what we lack now is to be patient and go without conceding, and to win by scoring just one goal. It's easy to say, but I really feel that we are lacking in that area. Of course, there were many good aspects, but whether we can finish there is a decisive factor in the match, and whether we can endure and bring the game to our pace is also a crucial point. This season, there have been many such games. Also, with the Levain Cup in three days, I want to work with the players on how to approach it and what kind of performance we can show."

《Q&A》
Q=Is the development as expected, meaning a close score like 0-0 or 1-1?
"That's right. When we play against Marinos, as it was last time, it tends to be a close game decided by a single goal. We focused on how to break through their very solid defense and how to avoid conceding goals without being caught on the counterattack during this week's training, and in that regard, the match unfolded as we expected. Also, during the opponent's build-up, Kida, the defensive midfielder, dropped back, both full-backs pushed up, and Saito and Martinos moved inside, which I think Tokyo handled very well without confusion. However, we couldn't break through for a goal. Of course, not everything goes perfectly every time, but the game developed somewhat as we had anticipated. Marinos are in the top ranks for a reason, and I realized again that we are lacking in that area."

Q=In the second half, we faced sharp counters from Marinos multiple times. How should we stop that?
"As expected, the moment the cross was delivered, we switched positions, and during the kickoff, Yanagi was nutmegged by Saito, resulting in a corner kick. At that time, we were being pressured. We had discussed the importance of starting strong, but both Ogawa and Yanagi were a bit too forward. Also, in terms of defending crosses, we became ball watchers, and it is true that we were late in that situation, which led to two clear chances for the opponent. On the other hand, we also created two clear chances in the first half, and whether we could convert those would have changed the flow of the game. Going into the second half at 0-0, we were a bit pressured during those first ten minutes, which is a fact that our quality did not improve. I am very reflective about this."

"Today Nakajima is leaving the team, but I really wanted to send him off in a good way. All the players and staff are praying for his future success. Please continue to support him. Thank you."

《Yokohama FM - Summary of the press conference by Erick MOMBAERTS, the coach》
"In the first half, we couldn't control the game well enough. We lost the ball too quickly. However, we were able to defend without allowing the opponent to score."
Regarding our transition to defense, this is a place where we can always perform well, but today, our transition was not going very well in the first half. We allowed FC Tokyo several counter-attack opportunities. However, the players were able to make adjustments and enter the second half. I believe we were able to demonstrate that kind of mental strength.
In the second half, we were able to control the game better than in the first half. We spent more time playing in the opponent's territory and were able to earn many corner kicks. We created several good chances, but we were unable to score.
The next step was to bring about a change in the situation through player substitutions. We had planned for this, so we were able to make that change. I think it was a wonderful goal by Vieira. However, this goal was born from the fantastic movement of Ogiwara before it.
In order to continue our current competition for the top positions, we have gone 14 matches without a loss, but I believe it is important to maintain this momentum. To continue this battle against the top-level teams in the J-League, mental strength is necessary. I want to commend the players who have shown this aspect. I also want to express my gratitude to the fans and supporters who are backing the players.

《Q&A》
Q=Currently, I think Yokohama F.Marinos has the fewest goals conceded in the J.League and their defense is excellent. In that context, aren't Ogihara and Kida, who are playing at the base of the midfield, doing a very good job?
"Regarding the defense of this duo, first of all, both of them have a lot of stamina, so they contribute to the team in that aspect. They also play a role in maintaining balance during transitions and switches."

Q=Yokohama F.Marinos has many chances through counterattacks, what do you think about that?
"Indeed, today there were chances created on the counter. One of the reasons for this is that FC Tokyo set up a 5-3-2 defensive block, making it very difficult to break through with slow attacks. Even so, our left side was functioning to some extent, but the right side did not perform adequately today.
We needed to increase the speed of ball movement today. However, the second half was better than the first half. We must continue to improve moving forward.

Q=In the first half, it was said that the transition to defense did not go well, but it seemed that the pressing by Kida and Ogiwara did not go well. What was the reason for that?
"From now on, we need to analyze and confirm with video, but what I feel right now is that we were not able to play aggressively in the defensive zone where we lost the ball. This allowed the opponent to gain speed."
