[Player/Coach Comments]

"Kazunori YOSHIMOTO Player"
(Looking back on today's match)
"The result was disappointing and not being able to score an away goal is frustrating. I want to think about what is necessary to advance and prepare for the second match."

(What challenges did you see today?)
"After scoring two points, we were able to attack in a good shape in a short time. We need to make that attacking time longer and we need to score next time. We talked about it together, so we want to be aware of that."

(I felt like we were able to hold on until the end with Yoshimoto's play)
"In the end, we had to go for an away goal and the game opened up. But, I think that kind of situation allowed me to play my own style. It's a really tough result, but it's not over yet. Next, we have to win by scoring two or more goals without conceding."

(After the game, I spoke to my teammates)
"I can't give up, and I don't think it's a lost cause. There's no point in regretting what's already over, so I want to switch gears and keep going."

"Yu OKUBO"
(It seemed like we couldn't attack well?)
"Even if I or Utaka opened up on the side and created space, it was difficult for other players to come in. The movement of Yone and Kenjin in the inside half is really amazing and I think it's really tough. So, it might be a bit harsh to say this to those two, but if they can come in, we can create a numerical advantage. Right now, it's becoming a 1v1 or 3v3 situation, so we can't break through unless we are much better than the opponent. I think we can play a game where we outnumber the opponent, and I believe we have the players to do that."

(The second game will be a 0-2 situation)
"We still don't know, so we just have to prepare well and face the second game."

"Press Conference Summary by Coach Yoshiyuki SHINODA"
"We ended the first game with a 0-2 result, so we have to win by a difference of two or more points at home. As for today's game, there was a bit of a sluggish start, but I think we were able to move forward without giving the opponent any space. However, we have to reflect on the fact that we slowed down the pace in our attacks."
In the second half, there were some scenes where we went forward a bit, but I still think we didn't bring the ball to the goal enough. Anyway, we want to prepare together for the next game.

"Q&A"
Q=Until the opponent scored and aimed for a counterattack, I think we didn't give Kawasaki many chances, but after conceding a goal, we didn't have the idea of maintaining balance and attacking patiently. It seemed like we shifted to a more aggressive approach."
"We changed to a 3-4-3 formation and increased the number of players in the front line. There were certainly moments where we became too aggressive and we have to reflect on that, as we were countered twice or three times. We wanted to keep the score at 1-1 while also scoring a goal ourselves. I think the players played actively and aimed for a goal. However, we ended up conceding a goal and it caused the balance of the whole team to collapse."

"Kawasaki - Toru Oniki's Press Conference Summary"
"The players did their best. They ran well and showed great effort. Some players didn't have many chances, so we used them to show our play to the supporters. They showed a strong determination. I think it was a game that will lead to the next one."

"Q&A"
Q=Can you give us a few words about Arai and the defense who ended the game without conceding any goals?
"I really wanted to give (Shota) Arai a chance because he is a player who works hard in training. I think his hard work paid off and he is also a mood maker, so I think the team can gain momentum by winning in this way. Also, the defense line, including Itakura, did a great job of not letting the strong front players of FC Tokyo do their work and played well. However, I think the second game is important."

Q=During the consecutive games, player Ienaga was a starter for 5 official matches. Please give your expectations and evaluation of him.
"First of all, as for his evaluation today, it can be summed up in one word: amazing. He played his role in the attack and also ran hard in defense, coming back firmly. That has become his standard, so he has become an indispensable presence. We have back-to-back games now, but he is contributing to our team's strength, so we are using him to keep that momentum going."

Q=On the defensive side, we saw scenes where the opponent's passes were cut off well, but was it because we had a plan in place or because the players responded well? Which one was it?
"We only had the day before to come up with a plan. We raised awareness as a team, but ultimately the players did it while feeling the game. As for defending against the opponent's system, we have been training throughout the season, so I believe the players made solid decisions during the game."
