Players After the Match
[Player and Coach Comments]
《Yoshito OKUBO》
Everything has become half-hearted.
Today is a match where we have to score 3 points. Yet, the press is half-hearted, and passes aren't going forward. The players in the back must have felt something as well. We need to align on that...
If we went to score and ended up conceding instead, that would still be acceptable.
Being sent to Kawasaki without going, conceding 5 goals... I feel embarrassed.
They were passive, made mistakes, and continued to decline from there.
(In the final stages, I played deeper. Did that ultimately lead to the goal?)
Since the ball wasn't coming out while I was trying to create plays up front, I had no choice but to drop back.
Received, passed, and went inside.
I played in a way that I want everyone to do this.
Everyone in this team says, 'Let's change, let's change, I want to change.'
◈ But it doesn't change at all. It's a waste not to challenge yourself.
Not just for now, but we must also think about the future.
If you can't challenge now, nothing will change in the future. You have to accept that.
There are 10 matches left in the league. Can we change in these 10 matches?
For that reason, I want to convey this and pursue change.
Kento HASHIMOTO
"(We started the match well, but conceded a goal first, making the game difficult?)
I think that's everything..."
Overall, we were overly aggressive and often allowed Kawasaki to get behind us.
There were times when we didn't have enough defenders, and even when we did, the opponent's shots were skillful, leading to goals conceded.
I was prepared for such a situation by being aggressive, but I had come to terms with it.
We conceded a goal at a point where we could have held on...
(Regarding the period after becoming a double pivot)
We may have lost some balance while trying to score goals.
It feels like we kept conceding goals because of that.
There were no gains today. I feel sorry for the fans and supporters, and I only feel embarrassed and frustrated.
After finishing the first match with a score of 0 to 2, I believe the fans and supporters came to watch because there was still hope that Tokyo could turn it around.
Rather than focusing on that play or this play, we all feel regret and frustration today. Everyone must accept this result.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference by Yoshiyuki SHINODA, Coach》
"Today's match ended in an unfortunate result."
I think the players started the game well. However, conceding the first goal gave the opponent a lot of space.
With this, we have been eliminated from the Levain Cup, so I have no excuses, but I think the players did well.
I apologize to all the fans and supporters for this result. We will all lift our heads and prepare for the next match, so I hope you believe in us and support us.
《Q&A》
Q=Did it seem like the players were feeling down after conceding a goal?
"The players were unsettled because we conceded the first goal. I tried to calm them down, but immediately after that, we conceded two more goals, which gave the opponents more space. I think that caused the entire team's concentration to break down."
《Kawasaki - Toru ONIKI's Press Conference Summary》
Despite being an away game, it was really great to have many supporters come and to have won firmly, allowing us to move on to the next stage.
Although the final score was 5-1, we didn't start the match well, so I think the biggest takeaway from today is that we were able to endure through that.
However, I want to make sure that we eliminate conceding a goal at the end in the future.
《Q&A》
Q=What was the intention behind substituting players Enaka and Taniguchi at halftime?
"I wanted to secure an away goal, so even though it was a series of matches, I utilized player Enaka."
As a result, we were able to score an away goal in the first half, so we made substitutions.
Regarding player Taniguchi, he was unable to participate in the last match due to injury, so considering the next game, I wanted to have him play.
I believe that various forms were created because the players scored goals.
Q=What is the plan for entering the match?
I anticipated that the opponent would come forward, so I communicated that it was fine to play without taking risks in that area. Because of that instruction, there were moments when the ball didn't connect and the number of players showing up in between decreased, so I felt the difficulty of how to express my words.
However, I believed that it would definitely become an open game as time passed, so I think it is a positive outcome that the players played thoughtfully during that period.
Q=What is your evaluation of player Abe?
"He has outstanding decision-making ability, and I can appreciate the way he utilized it in his play."
I believe we can play better until we reach that point. I want to increase plays that involve receiving the ball in between and further develop.
