[Player and Coach Comments]
《Sei MUROYA》
(Reflecting on the match)
"I think it wasn't good for the team that we conceded during that period, especially since we had chances ourselves and the opponent was coming at us strongly. However, throughout the match, we created many opportunities and were able to form the attacking style we wanted, so I believe we can look forward positively from here."
(I think there were especially chances in the second half)
"We were able to create chances several times from both sides. However, since we couldn't score, I believe we need to improve on that as a team."
(What about the shot curled with the left foot?)
"I have a good feel for crosses and shots with my left foot. I need to make sure I can finish those kinds of chances properly."
(Good collaboration with Rei HIRAKAWA was also seen)
"I understand Rei's characteristics. I believed that good passes would come, so I was able to play boldly there."
Rei Hirakawa
(It was a tough match against Tosu, but what are your thoughts on the game?)
"Tosu was in a defensive position, so I was clear about what I needed to do. There were hardly any moments when they pressured me, so I was able to hold the ball. It would have been best if we could have won. Next, I want to play in a way that contributes to our victory."
(How did you feel when your name was called for the substitution?)
"I felt determined to do my best. Since we were in a losing situation, I focused on playing more aggressively."
(What words did your teammates say to you?)
"After the match, everyone said 'Congratulations.' I realized that this was the start because of those words."
(Did playing today give you confidence, or did you feel that you need to level up in various areas?)
"Since I am playing in J3, I had no confusion about what the team is doing. Personally, I still feel there are many things I need to work on, and I want to be able to achieve results when I get that opportunity."
(There was a scene where I clashed bodies with Ibarbo)
"I was blown away... I felt it was a world-class physical standard"
(There are 2 matches left this season, and I hope to be able to play at Ajinomoto for the final match)
"I want to make sure it doesn't end today. If I can make an impression from practice, I believe there is still a chance, so I want to work hard to seize that opportunity."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference by Coach Takayoshi AMMA》
I am truly grateful that many fans and supporters came all the way to the away game to support the team.
The match started with a reminder to be careful of set plays involving Ibarubo. I think we managed to respond well to the set plays, but I must commend Harakawa for the first goal's free kick. After conceding a goal, we switched our focus and continued the match, but the cleared second ball spilled over to the opponent, leading to the second goal against us. Even in a behind situation, we were able to play aggressively in both offense and defense, and we managed to respond to the opponent's counterattacks.
The attack has been able to move the ball steadily without becoming disjointed, repeatedly penetrating behind Tosu and creating opportunities to shoot freely. To score there, we can only increase the number of chances.
We must win in order to respond to the support of those who cheer for us.
Just like Yoshito (Yu OKUBO) scored without giving up until the very end, I want the entire team to stay focused and keep challenging.
《Q&A》
Q=Did the game plan change after conceding the first goal?
"Rather than changing the game plan, we entered the match by confirming together where the opponent's spaces would open up. I believe we were able to take positions among the players and move into dangerous areas effectively. Whether we score the first goal or not changes the flow of the game, and I feel we should be more focused on that initial goal, which influences the direction of the match."
However, I felt that the defense of Tosu was always aware of their defensive duties, putting their bodies on the line and closing in at the very last moment. I believe that we cannot win just with skill; we need to play selflessly, so I want to focus on that in our training.
Q=Rei HIRAKAWA's evaluation is
"Regarding Rei (Hirakawa), I think he did well. First, we placed Kento HASHIMOTO in the front line, creating a player configuration that could dive into Hiroki's crosses. Through practice matches and scrimmages, we knew that Kento could score goals in the area, so we utilized him there.
Attacking recklessly from the back will only lead to being countered. I believed in Hirakawa's quality to distribute the ball effectively in the tight spaces of the densely packed frontline. Regarding the battles for the ball, he mentioned that he participated in the U-17 World Cup and "couldn't cope with the fast and strong press," so I think he is trying to address that issue as a way to progress to the next level.
《Press Conference Summary of Tosu's Massimo FICCADENTI》
Looking at the first and second halves separately, in the first half, we were able to create many chances and score, which was good. Overall in the match, I think we were able to play at a very high level in terms of both technique and tactics.
I told the players that FC Tokyo would take risks and push forward in the second half, no matter what. They executed the tasks from halftime well in the second half.
Especially Yuji ONO, Akito FUKUTA, and Victor Ibarbo were not in perfect condition to perform from start to finish, but even so, while they were on the pitch, they played truly wonderfully.
However, if I were to be greedy, I think it would have been better for the team if we could have taken advantage of a few more chances in the second half to widen the score gap. I can't help but feel stuck on the fact that we conceded a goal at the very end.
