[Player and Coach Comments]
《Yuhei TOKUNAGA》
I wanted to win.
◈ But I think we were able to create chances and show our spirit.
Above all, we thought that in order to win, we must first reduce the number of goals conceded, and we were able to concentrate and communicate well together to defend effectively.
I was happy that we kept a clean sheet.
(Was there a moment when you thought about taking a shot...?)
"Well, I was thinking about using my left foot... but my knee was a bit painful (laughs)
so I decided against it."
(About this season)
"Although the results didn't come... I hope we can work hard to achieve good results next season. I will be leaving the team, but I also have high hopes."
(What came to mind the moment the match ended?)
"I didn't have any special feelings, but watching the footage brought back memories."
I really only know this team.
There are too many obvious things... it's hard to imagine what comes next.
I am looking forward to the changes in the environment, but of course, I also feel a sense of loneliness.
However, since the battle will begin again next season, I also had a strong feeling to do my best in the next stage.
My football life is still ongoing, and I also had the desire to make it a good life.
What I regret after 14 seasons in Tokyo is that I was unable to win the league championship.
I definitely want to achieve this from here on, and I want to do my best to challenge myself as well.
《Naohiro ISHIKAWA》
"I really wanted to win... Right now, that feeling is the most important."
Having been given a chance, as I played, various desires emerged, and my feelings of wanting to shoot, wanting to score, and wanting to win grew stronger and stronger.
(I don't think it was a performance that would lead to retirement?)
"(Laughs). I wanted to show that part, you know.
I was included in the main squad for the red and white match this Wednesday. Until then, I hadn't been able to participate in either J1 or J3, nor had I been included in the roster. However, I believe the coach put me in the starting position as one of the forms he is showing.
At that moment, everyone was surprised and must have felt, 'Why is it Nao!?'
◈ However, when I joined FC Tokyo, I participated in a match at Komazawa just 2 to 3 days after joining practice, and at that time, I was really hungry for games. It didn't matter what others said.
If you show those feelings, just show them completely, I told myself.
To be honest, I had some anxiety, and even though I was far away, I watched everyone's expressions and attitudes.
I had thoughts about what I could do once I got in there, but I also believed there were things that only I could feel and do. So I stood on the pitch with confidence and tried to give it my all.
It's really disappointing that it didn't lead to results, but I hope you were able to feel something from it.
I was able to stand on the pitch in the best condition today.
Since I woke up in the morning, I always checked my knees, hips, and calves, and also confirmed the feeling of going up and down the stairs, but it has been years since I could play without any pain or discomfort, feeling so light in my body...
I felt that everything, including adrenaline, everyone's feelings, and my own feelings, contributed to improving the situation, and it was a strange sensation.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference by Coach Takayoshi AMMA》
Since I became the coach, I have been trying to break down the opponent while moving the ball.
As a result of the players' hard work, we have started to create good plays and solid defense since the match against Tosu.
However, as seen in today's match, we were able to create scoring opportunities but could not convert them into goals in the end. I feel that this weakness in finishing has continued throughout this season.
The players kept their heads up until the end and built up from their daily training, and they fought to win until the very last moment.
I am truly grateful to all the fans and supporters who have supported us for a year, as well as to all the club sponsors.
I understood that we were a team that was expected to perform this season, and I truly regret that we were unable to meet those expectations.
Including players, staff, and the company, we are supported by all the fans, supporters, and club sponsors.
I felt that we need to reflect on that fundamental aspect once again, do what needs to be done, and move towards the title that everyone is aiming for, step by step.
Thank you for this season
《Q&A》
Q=What is the purpose of today's match?
"The main goal is to repay the fans and supporters who have supported us throughout this season by winning. Although we could not achieve that goal, I was proud of our attitude to go for the score without being intimidated by G Osaka's counterattacks."
Nao has also adjusted his condition well for the final match and is on the field as a valuable asset, and I believe Toku gave it his all. I am satisfied with that.
Q=What is the reason for leaving player Morishige off the bench?
"I could see him participating in the practice match while enduring pain during training.
Today's match was not about putting players like Nao, Toku, or Morishige on the field, but rather about delivering a victory to those who support us. To achieve that goal, we included many offensive players on the bench.
For Morishige, the cost of pushing himself too hard here and suffering a serious injury felt incredibly high. I believe the person who is most frustrated about not being able to stand on the pitch for the final match is him, so I hope he can unleash this frustration in the next season.
《G Osaka - Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference Summary》
The players fought hard until the very end, sticking to the competition.
I am truly sorry for not being able to deliver many victories that so many supporters were hoping for.
The players returned to the locker room saying, "I'm sorry, we wanted to win." I am truly proud of the players who fought hard for victory until the very end.
I truly feel that the 5 years went by in the blink of an eye. However, the time spent with them has become an unforgettable 5 years in my life, and I am grateful to the club Gamba, the players, the supporters, and everyone involved.
How do you feel now that your time at Gamba has come to an end?
"I wanted to end with a win. I think there will be various feelings after the season is completely over tomorrow and the day after, but right now that feeling is strong."
Q=What did you say at the last locker?
"I spoke a few short words to each player. I hope that starting next season, we can grow as players and become a team that can compete for the championship and win titles."
