[Player and Coach Comments]
《Ryoichi MAEDA》
(The result was 0-2. How do you reflect on the match?)
"Today's result is very disappointing. In the first half, Takahagi provided a wonderful pass from a quick restart, and we were able to create a one-on-one situation, but I feel that not being able to convert such chances led to today's result."
(What about the connection with Diego OLIVEIRA, who formed a two-top?)
"There were times when we could play at a good distance, but there were also times when we were a bit too far apart.
If we can increase the time spent playing at a better distance, I think we will have more opportunities, so I want to build that up from practice.
(It was a long-awaited match at Yamaha Stadium)
"I felt once again that it is a very atmospheric stadium. It is frustrating that I couldn't score and help the team win in such an environment."
(Towards the next match)
"I want everyone to face the team's challenges together. Personally, I will also make a solid appeal and do my best to score goals that lead to the team's victory."
《Keigo HIGASHI》
(It's a frustrating defeat)
"We need to have a proper discussion with the entire team and correct the areas where we were off. However, the season has just started, so we want to turn things around from here."
We ended up scoreless for two consecutive matches,
and not only did we not score, but we also conceded goals.
We need to watch the footage together again to understand the cause. We must discuss both offense and defense thoroughly and prepare for the next match. Today's result is very disappointing, and I apologize to the fans and supporters. With this regret in mind, I want to make good preparations for the next match.
(I think he moved up to the top and became a good starting point from the middle)
"Even if the position changes, the need to score goals and provide assists does not change. I believe the team is currently struggling, so if we can overcome this together as a team, we will surely become stronger. We can only believe in that and keep going."
(It feels like the front line and midfield are not quite connecting)
"Since there is an opponent, we must first show our strong mentality and fighting spirit. In addition to that, I think it's important to think more about how to move to become free and play accordingly."
Summary of the press conference by Kenta HASEGAWA, Tokyo's coach
I believe the key to the outcome was the opening goal, even though the players really fought until the end. The pinpoint cross from Nakamura was deflected by Adailton, and I don't think we can blame the defense line for that. Higashi was also tightly marking when the cross was delivered, but we were caught off guard for just a moment.
However, we were able to create many opportunities to take the lead from the first half, and we had a very high number of set plays. In that sense, I believe that if we could have scored the first goal, not only from the flow of the game but also from those set plays, it could have led to a different result.
It is certainly true that we are having difficulty scoring, so I want to carefully analyze the footage to determine what went wrong and prepare for the next match against Shonan.
Summary of the press conference of Hiroshi NANAMI, coach of Jubilo Iwata
"I told the players that in matches like this, small mistakes and flaws can determine the outcome. I think everyone, including those who came on as substitutes, focused well and did a great job.
Especially in the second half, there was no stress in watching, and aside from the moments when Nagai cut through the side and set pieces, there were no scary scenes. I think we were able to fight in a way that connected our good attacks to a more aggressive defense thanks to scoring the opening goal.
However, the quality was not high, so that is something that needs to be improved. We were able to move the ball in the vital area from the first half, but in the end, we couldn't get the ball into the dangerous area, so it didn't really create many chances.
In the second half, by consciously exchanging the ball several times between Kawamata and Adailton, we were able to push the opponent back more effectively. In any case, gaining 3 points is significant for us, and I think it's a positive point that Ryoichi Maeda was unable to score a goal this season. This doesn't mean that the momentum will change drastically; we need to stay focused and disciplined. Since Hiroshima has won three consecutive matches away against Kashima, we will have to face another tough opponent. I want to build a stronger mindset and a solid group as we move forward.
