[Player and Coach Comments]
《Tsuyoshi WATANABE》
(Reflecting on today's overall play)
"I want to be a center-back who can score goals, but I believe that if I can't help the team win, that value is lost. Scoring is important, but I entered today's match with the determination to keep a clean sheet, so I must reflect on the fact that I couldn't achieve that."
(Looking back at the scoring scene)
"I wanted to score from a corner kick before the match started. A wonderful ball came from player Ota, so I thought I just had to dive in with determination."
(Was it a goal as imagined?)
"Upon arriving in Tokyo and going through practices and practice matches, I felt that movement and positioning were important, so I played with that in mind. As a result, I received a ball from player Ota that matched my expectations, so it was a moment where the results of our practice showed."
(How was it on the defensive side?)
"In the first half, we were able to control the ball at our own pace. In the second half, due to the opponent's substitutions and overall retreating, we allowed the opponent to take control, which led to conceding a goal. We couldn't manage the flow of the match well."
(Regarding the scene of the second goal)
"It was my first experience like this. I didn't expect Cristiano to kick a high cross from that position with just one step. If I had anticipated that kind of ball coming, I would have taken a different positioning. I believe this experience is very significant, so I want to use this frustration to improve in the future."
《Takumi NAKAMURA》
"Looking back at today's match, there were aspects of our attack that we could execute. However, throughout the match, I felt that we were still physically inferior, so I want to continue to grow from here."
(It was a very calm start to the match)
"I think we had a very good start as a team. However, in the second half, there were many moments when the opponent had the ball, and the game progressed at their pace."
(Regarding the effectiveness in the attacking part)
"In attack, I felt that if we could improve the final setups and the accuracy of our finishes, it would lead to better results. I felt that if we could enhance our coordination with teammates, it would lead to more opportunities."
(It was a full participation)
"Of course, I'm happy about it. However, I am not satisfied with the results. I want to work even harder from now on to contribute to the team's results."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"I think we were able to enter the match in a good shape after scoring the opening goal. We had a chance to score the second goal, and if we had converted that, I believe the outcome of the match could have changed."
I can only praise Cristiano for the last two goals conceded. A wonderful ball came in pinpoint. However, the group stage has just begun, and we managed to score one goal away, so I want to fight hard in the remaining five matches to advance to the prime stage.
(There were many chances to add points in the first half, but were there parts that became careless in the second half?)
"I don't think we became careless, but as the second half progressed, we started to tire, and the opposing defense was able to supply the ball to their forwards freely, which I believe is a challenge for us moving forward."
Since Jael was also starting for the first time in an official match, I think he showcased his strengths very well when he was energetic, but after receiving a yellow card and showing some signs of fatigue, I thought it was about time to substitute him.
Next, we will be facing Sendai in the Levain Cup group stage Sec. 2, just two days later, and I want to carefully consider the lineup.
《Kashiwa - NELSINHO Coach Press Conference Summary》
"From the beginning, we were able to spread the ball and move it well during the build-up to enter the match, but I told the players at halftime that the time between winning the ball and losing it was too short, which allowed the opponent to gain the upper hand in the match. I instructed them to effectively neutralize the opponent's central midfielder. By correcting that aspect in the second half, Tokyo's build-up stopped functioning. I believe that was a significant factor that led to a major result this time."
(Did you adopt a three-back formation for the first time this season?)
"As for the positioning of this match, I talked to the players about fighting hard with the B team, and on top of that, we have been working on tactics for this match since last Friday. Looking at the characteristics of our players, there are those who have experience playing in a three-back formation, and the only player who has never played in a three-back formation has been training since last week to adapt to it, and I think his performance was very good.
To fight through the season, we adopted the three-back formation this time to increase our options as a team."
